What was your data usage on your previous plan just before you switched to Liberty? Your allotment for the Liberty Plan does not reset to zero when you make a switch of plans in the midst of a cycle.

Howdy Mr. Smith,
Download Netbalancer,
It allows for you to (with a click) to disable your PC's ability to access the internet, yes even the OS will be prevented from accessing the net, it also has the option to password protect the settings.
If you do this it will without drama tell you if it is on your end or Exede's.
But without a little digging it's all speculation.
I would download Malwarebytes Antimalware as well and let it scan your PC to eliminate the off chance that its virus or malware related.
Both programs are free and have good reputations.

Netbalancer: https://netbalancer.com/
Malwarebytes: https://www.malwarebytes.org/

Notice that both links are to the publishers site and are secure (https) this is very important when downloading software.

Netbalancer will also keep record of used internet so if it is on your end you will know exactly what is using it.
PS if you are infected and need assistance (free) stop by a community that I am proud to be a member of that focuses on Security advising and Malware Removal located here: https://malwaretips.com/ we are very friendly and knowledgeable, many of the members are IT professionals and security enthusiasts that work in these fields and donate free time to helping. The Liberty plan does NOT include free zone from 12am to 5am. Of course, they don't tell you that before you switch. That's what happened to us. We only used internet during the midnight hours, and it counted against our cap so we burned through our data super quick. And then they say that the Classic plans are no longer available, so you can't go back! Super shady, Exede. Shady practices. Not happy. Exede already has a bad reputation...this kind of thing certainly isn't helping.

Matt, there is nothing "shady" about the data policies of Exede. You should have read the Data Usage Policy before making the decision to switch plans.

False. On the My Exede page where it allows you to switch plans, it says nothing about changes in policies. It says nothing about the new plan not having the "free zone". It has nothing else to read. I know you like to blindly defend the company, but it is absolutely shady indeed.

Keep all your chat and service requests as well as Exedes replys on a thumb drive from here on out. jmho. PeAcE
PS: take Screenshots of the page for upgrading and the material supplied, they are not allowed to list change policy "in's and outs" in a manner that requires you to 1: not know of their existence  ie without direct links on the page, 2: or in a location that comes off as misdirecting you, that in and of itself "could constitute a breach of contract on Exedes end in many courts.

so I noticed my data was also ate up without ay explination so I called 3 times and they escalated it 3 times since the 1-18-2016 all of them saying that I was on both exede12 and liberty 10 and that conflict is what cause my data to be used up since free zone has counted . I have never even spoke about changing to liberty 10 plan and expressed that I am staying on my exede 12 and they changed it to liberty 10 without any consent and are telling me I can not get back what I was on? and still have not put it back to exede 12 as of yet (1-23-1016)  so yea pretty shady and no denying that.

There was a problem with earlier Apple OS versions needlessly eating up data, although I don't think it was anywhere near the amount you are talking about.  There are discussions on the Apple forum pertaining to this.  In any event, OS Version 10.9.1 supposedly fixed this. Make sure you are running the latest.

Funny you should mention that, JEP. It says my update is 6.5g. It took 20 minutes to just this minute to load 150 mb!!! What have I gotten into here? lol

That information should be prominent when you try to switch plans, without having to go to another page to find it (and how would we know to do that?). The thing is, I just want to switch back to the previous plan, but being told that's not possible is what REALLY sticks in my craw. The old bait and switch. Not cool.

Ya it's ridiculous. I don't think it's accurate. We get slow service on our data and same slow speed on our days after.

I have noticed the same thing when I first switched, but my beam allows me to keep about the same speeds on Liberty pass so I really don't worry about it much. Give it a month to settle in.

I use to burn up tons of data and when we investigated we discovered Exede's time and our time weren't the same.  I  set my system to update and so forth on the free time 12:00am - 5:00am  on my old plan.    and guess what Exede system didn't recognize it being 12:00 midnight at my house, which is located in GA eastern Standard time zone.   Anyrate  I figured it out one night when we had burned through or allotted amount of Gigs and was waiting on  midnight for the throttle to be set back to full. Anyhow it didn't happen until 1:00 am   the same thing happen the next night and I called there tech support and they openly admitted they had a problem.  I raised hell and they gave me a free months service for showing them the problem.  to my knowledge they never got the problem corrected and shortly afterwards they started doing away with the older plans.
Now a new problem very slow speeds under there Liberty Plan..   I've done speed test at different times of the day and this is the quickest way to figure out if its in your system or there's  mornings  5:00 am  Eastern Standard Time Zone  Speeds are almost always above the promised 12mbps down    but do a speed test around 8:00pm  and speeds are so unreliably  I've did 3 test over the last hour and the fastest was 5.7mbps down   and the slowest was 2.7mbps down  during peak demand.    Problem is I am paying for High Speed internet, and I am not receiving it 24/7  under my allotted 12 Gigs.   there's been times it's so slow the system times out trying to make a connection.
I've did all the test on my modem and so forth.  Clear Skies no rain..   It's very simple they have over sold there services and there's not enough band width.   I've been a customer for 3 years now and back when I got the services it was great 20-25mbps during the morning and days and 10-15mbps at peak.  I told everyone and many of my friends and neighbors signed up for the service, and yes all of them are now having the same slow problems.     Now I wouldn't recommend Exede to anyone and I am considering  switching services.
