I didn't just call up and say "Come install satellite internet at my house." I called and ask a lot of questions, got prices for everything, and got a link to a forum full of existing customers first. No satellite internet is not ideal for me, the small data allowance before my speed is slowed means I cannot do some of the things I would do if I had unlimited service or even a higher data cap but, my only alternative is 24kbps MAX speed dial up over static filled aluminum phone lines that are so old they won't even support caller ID.
Between HughesNet and Viasat, I find that Excede is the better option for me.
My bigger question is why would you assume Exede was wireless when no other ISP is wireless by default unless the specify that you get a wireless router or one is built into the modem?

Exede's Customer Service has always been great with me, although I rarely need it. The last time I had to call them was when the dish got bumped out of alignment.
You might want to just calm down a little, and try it again. You were pissed off at your last company, made a hasty decision to teach them a lesson because they increased their rates (like it matters). You signed up with Exede, without reading the policies, and now you're pissed at them. Been there, done that in other situations. Weigh it out, and figure out what you want to do. Good luck.

Still nothing I've had here, or anywhere I've lived came wireless, it was always up to me to make my devices connect to the internet, all I got was a cable coming into my home attached to a modem that was connected to the internet. beyond that, connecting things to the modem was my problem.

David I agree with you. I had Time Warner when I lived in New York, excellent. But then I moved to Alabama a small town no one has even heard of and like I said the choice was between Wildblue and Hughesnet. My neighbor had Hughesnet and I used it once or twice or tried to use it on a clear sunny day. No luck. I then found someone in town that had Wildblue and I called them and asked them numerous questions. I liked some answers and others I did not. I weighed my options and choice Wildblue-unlimited. At that time it was the same as I pay for 10gb now. I disconnected from Wildblue because I moved briefly to the city. When I came back to the country (which I had no intentions of doing) I went back to Wildblue. Like I said only the rain, heavy rain, keeps me from using the service. But then my TV also goes out. So I then watch videos.

But I also have a very good rep. She told me about the rain and the dish sometimes getting out of focus as well as there could not be any interference in the direction the dish was in. Every question I had she answered correctly and things I did not know to ask she answered. When you cannot do the research it is hard to know what questions to ask the representative should have told her certain things even if she did not ask. I am a customer service representative myself so I know there are some well versed customers and some that not so versed. But I still tell them even answers to questions they don't think to ask. Everyone doesn't know how to research or have no means to do so. The customer service agent should know what to tell customers even if they don't ask.

If I, with that training, sold Exede, I would tell a customer of my experience seeing HIGHER than advertised speeds, still being able to stream video even after using all of my priority data on liberty pass, and staying connected on cloudy days without a single interruption. All of those have happened for me, I know it's not the norm, it isn't for me either but, I would omit that bit of information were I selling it under the training I had for sales.
I would tell them that it is metered but, with the info about still being able to stream on Liberty Pass, that would not sound bad at all to the new customer. I'd tell them a heavy storm could temporarily disable their connection but, again with them already knowing I stayed connected on cloudy days, they would assume only very severe weather would be a problem and, that only happens a few times a year.
No that isn't how I'd do it if it were 100% up to me but, an example of how some sales reps are trained, make the sale, get the signed contract by avoiding any negatives and focusing on rare, unusual positives that happen to a FEW customer.
Kudos for being a more honest than average rep and, not just going for the sale without telling them the negatives.

Assuming you don't want to leave and burn $300 your options are
1) Plug you pc into the Exede modem with an ethernet cable
2) Buy a cheap router with wireless capability and connect that to your Exede modem
3) Upgrade you account to the WIFI option and Exede will provide you with their modem/router which has a wireless signal built into it and which will easilyconnect to your wireless pc.
Option 3 has an equipment rental charge but might be the best way for you to go with minimum setup procedures.
