I have to disagree with Kaotic. I have had many customers leave HughesNet for Exede and are very happy.

For Windows 10 and if accessing wirelessly, ensure that your connection is set as metered. When the new Exede WIFI/Modem (or any new router) is introduced, a new network connection is detected by Windows and its profile is established with the default settings (non-metered is the default). The following link explains how to do that and includes some other recommendations that may also help:

http://www.groovypost.com/howto/manage-windows-10-data-usage/

On Windows 10 going forward, I'd also suggest installing a robust traffic monitoring application which can independently verify your Windows 10 usage to confirm it against the Exede usage meter. I personally use Glasswire (https://glasswire.com) which will identify what applications and sites visited are using data. Networx and Netbalancer are other options.

Windows 10 does provide some data usage information for the past 30 days. See:

http://www.cnet.com/how-to/monitor-your-data-usage-in-windows-10/

Can't offer any recommendation for iPod/iPad but someone else here may have some experience with those and wouldn't be surprised to find similar features/options there.

I agree with Jim. I have had several of my neighbors switch from HughesNet to Exede after seeing how well Exede works at my house because they were unhappy with their HughesNet and how poorly the service was.

I am a former ScrewsNet customer.  I came to Excede and noticed instant improvement in both speed and customer service.  Oh, wait, come to think of it, I have never had to call customer service while at Excede!

ScrewsNet was noting but years and years of high blood pressure dealing with script monkeys that couldn't even speak English.  I was on the phone with them at least once a month -sometimes much more often.

So far, I am happy as pie to be on Exceed.  Yes, it's not exactly fiber optics, but pretty good considering I have not had to call tech support once in the six or so months I have been with them.

I work as a consultant from home and depend on reliable internet.

I would go back to dial-up before going back to ScrewsNet.

I was with Hughesnet when uploading was not counted in your data usage. When that would go away once I went to the new Gen4 plans and I heard from a friend about Exede, I made the switch. For me, Exede is much better to work with.

Hello Goupil,

If you are wanting some information on Exede, We will be more than happy to answer any question you may have regarding our service. Looks like a fair number of our users on here made the switch from Hughesnet to Exede.

Per the Exede web site it may be available, however it is only available in that area through a local Exede dealer and would need to contact one of them. A list of dealers for that ZIP Code is available at:
