Hi Meredith,
I assume you are referring to Facetime for the Apple/ Mac?
Are these one of the errors your receiving:
  • "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again"
  • "Could not sign into Messages. Please check network settings and try again"
  • "There was an error processing registration"
  • "The requested operation could not be completed due to an error communicating with the server"

Do you have a valid Apple ID?
Could it be related to your Firewall software?

Here is a troubleshooting page, maybe it will help? http://support.apple.com/en-us/TS3970
If you have more question, or find a new issue, let us know and someone will help you. ☺

Welcome to the forum, enjoy.

Hi  Everett, Thank you for replying so quickly. :) Actually, I'm not getting any of these messages. It is going to connect and then after a while it says "call ended" without ever connecting. I just assumed it was because of my internet. Apple ID is good. Not sure about firewall.

Hi Meredith,
Do you use a specific port to make the access/ connection? What are the steps you do to make the connection?

Has it worked before. Is this a new error? Is this a error that only happens with the Exede internet connection? Are you using a new machine, desktop, laptop? have you just switched to Exede?

When you try to connect, where  do you go? Is it a special login page? Does it ever ask you for your Apple ID?

I would also suggest that you contact an Exede rep with your account # and details. They can be checking your setup/ connection from the backside and possibly find an issue. Email them here: exedelistens@viasat.com

The weekend is coming up and the best time to get a ticket stared is now. Things get busy over the weekend.

They will help you.

Was it something new that was just happening yesterday?  Or an ongoing problem.  I ask because we were getting super slow speeds most of the day yesterday which seemed to continue after rebooting everything.  Some web sites timed out and some that would load took forever, I switched my computer to Verizon and it "liked" Verizon so I just used that for the balance of the evening.  My one speed test I ran (even that was challenging to do) showed 0.15 download.  This morning things are back to normal so I figure there was an issue upstream somewhere.
