If your computer or another device is on, it might be an update, if this is just today that you left, all usage might not have been reported before you left. If it's been some time ago, the modem does need to use a tiny bit of data to connect and, stay connected.

Hello Hallie,

The data that you’re viewing through your personal portal meter is the usage that was identified before your current cycle if your modem was unplugged. The Usage meter is intended to be used as a guide to help you monitor your usage totals. It can take up to 24 hours to reflect updates. If your modem is currently offline, the usage meter will not update and may not display your correct "Current Service State". If you have any further questions please send us your account and contact info to exedelistens@viasat.com. Thank you
