I am on a fixed income, and i have excede. What happens if i cannot pay my contract and decide to return the equipment. Are they going to sue me ? Things are going up and i may not be able to finish my contract especially since I am becoming more disabled than when i started the contract. My vehicle is in need of repair and has to take precedence over luxury items like internet. The doctors tell me I may wheelchair bound in a year or less. My cell phone comes before the internet. please tell me what to expect.

You are in a 24 month contract and early termination results in a $10 per month charge for each month remaining on your contract. You have to return the TRIA and modem when you cancel but ViaSat provides a shipping box and I believe they pay shipping costs. If you have an unexpected hardship you can appeal for some relief but ViaSat/Exede is under no obligation to relieve you from the terms of your contract. You may want to consider a temporary pause in your service. The Mods on here or Customer Service can give you the details but I believe you have to pay $10 per month during your "hibernation" period. Also, the time you are in hibernation will not count towards your 24 month commitment.

There are no paper hand written contracts. All are done with Esigs. If you hand-signed anything it was probably acknowledging your installation was completed satisfactorily or something for the dealer. ALL ViaSat contracts are electronically signed which has been ruled perfectly legal.

Hello Don, sorry for the unfortunate events that have arose. There is a 24month lease agreement with every Exede contract. If that contract is broken then early termination fees would apply. I would however like to review your account and see what we can do for you considering your situation. Please feel free to send us an email with your account and contact info to Thank you
