I am in Florida on vacation and my data is being used as we speak.

My data allowance have been going over for the past three months.Today the 12th is when my data allowance starts over and it is being used up and I am not even home.I was with wild blue for years before being switched over to exede and out of all of that time I might have went over on my data twice if that.For the past three months I have been going over my data allowance this past month my data used was at 80% the 12th day into my month.This is out ragous this makes the third email I have sent them and they have done nothing.I am in Flordia on vacation and my data is being used up as we speak.This will be my last month if it goes over this month I will be finding me another internet provider.Dial up would be better than getting ripped off.

If no one is uses your Exede Internet at your home while you're away, you should pull the plug on the modem when you leave.  Maybe someone could pull the plug for you ASAP and stop any possibility of data being used on your end until you're back home.

I think, with my data situation (lost data and unexplained usage) is because other networks are capturing signals from Excedes satellite and copying them to their own databases allowing them to get free data usage.  I think a firewall should be installed on everyone's computer, such as a good malware and spyware remover, along with high security features.

Two things come to mind. A neighbor is locking on to your modem if it is not PW protected or something is running in the background like on the Cloud and continually updating. I had this problem when we both got I phones and everything we did on our PC or on the Ipad was being shared to our phones. As soon as I turned off the cloud the data usage went back to normal.

This problem has been going on for three months.I have done every thing I can think of I am pretty computer smart,there has nothing changed at my home my WiFi is WPA 2 secured.It is really funny that this just started happening the last 3 months.And it should not matter if my rougher is plugged in or not if it is not being used. I do not use any cloud products so that could not be the problem.I never had any problem until March sense then I have went over my data usage,and I was with wild blue for years before becoming a exede customer. Seems like a lot of other people are having the same exact problem I am having here lately.Last month I was at 80% usage at day 12 into my cycle this past cycle.

Anytime anyone has an issue with your data, do send them an email.  They can look and see when the data is being used.  Soon you will also have this tool available on your Dashboard @ my.exede.net so you can manage your data better and see what time of day your data is being used.  

Always keep your wireless password protected, and don't use your names, address, phone number, pets names, or any other easy name.  Treat your network like your bank account.....because if you don't....it just very well may be your bank account that is taken next.

My WiFi is wpa2 protected I also have no neighbors so its not being stolen like I said I never had a problem until March nothing has changed.

Have you disabled WPS on your router? Even with oy password protected, it can be hacked through that feature.

I have the same problem and we have no neighbors...a secure router and I unplug my internet router when we go to bed and when we go to work. We are only home a matter of a few hours a day and have gone over my limit more times than I can count. I pay for the largest package that I can buy and I am being ripped off! We live in the country and I am furious!!!
