How to play games without being affected by latency and without using all of your priority data

The title pretty much says it all.  If you are having trouble with latency when gaming and if you are tired of using up all of your data to download games, you might want to give this a try.  It works awesome for me.

Excellent advice Stephen :) I wonder, would a Sega Genesis accomplish the same goals? I think I have one in the attic someplace. XD

Well, you know me, always on the cutting edge. :P All of us southern folk can't be total bumpkins all of the time.

You have a better TV stand than me though, mine's made outta old pallets I found at the truck stop. I just cut two of 'em in half and stacked 'em up to put my TV on. XD

Stephen Rice, Champion,

Ok, a few people know that I play with Planet Coaster.  I saw your answer to latency-immune games and wonder...  You call That  entertainment?  Planet Coaster is not latency sensitive.  You can have true fun with it.  Check out his video to see just some of the possibilities.

P.S.  It helps if you're just a bit crazy.

So on a scale of "whoopsie daisy!" to "Jurassic Park" how many people "died" in your theme park?

That's not my work, only an example of what is possible.  I do more difficult parks that take enormous time to build, like months from concept to completion.  Someday I'll make a video.

None, so far.  They get up and cheer after a few seconds.  See, no death or gore, game retains "E" rating !  I don't understand that, maybe should be rated on possibilities  of trauma, making it a "G" rated game.

haha I'm thinking back to the poor souls on Roller Coaster tycoon that rode a cool launch coaster that I greatly underestimated the speed that went flying off!!! Orrr the people that got mauled by a tiger on Zoo tycoon when the fences failed.

I haven’t seen a CRT TV in use in years. I hear the refresh rate isn’t an issue for those though. I bet you are a multiplayer beast. Probably install cheats though don’t you?

Screen Tearing is an even bigger issue on CRT than LCD IMO.

I used to have that game but I never could figure out how to play it.  I ended up having to burn the game and pee on the ashes just to get any entertainment out of it.

/shrugs/ I rather enjoy Dolphin and my GC games, and if I need some NES, well, I have an old NES beside me with a few dozen games... Then again, the few online games that I do play tend to work rather well.

Long live my AMD FX-9590.  (I need it to keep my room warm).  At 200+watts, it does a fair job.

I have to use 2 High powered Mimo Yagi Antenna to get cell coverage for my Hot spots without the antenna i'm lucky to get 1 bar but with them i get 3-4 bars it fluctuates. The tower where we live is badly congested though. I was an Exede customer for about 3 years 1.3 years ago and got my hands on a Grandfather Unlimited data Business Verizon account. It is fully unlimited no hard or soft cap at all.  But the issue is its 189 bucks a month and heavily affected by congested now since Verizon's new unlimited plan. Was seeing speeds of 30mbps down and 20mbps up before peak and about 5mbps down and 1 mbs up during peak times 5pm-12am. Then the new unlimited plans rolled out and it went down to if your lucky 3mbps  down 1.5mbps up off peak and during peak wich changed dramatically from 5pm-12pm to 1-2pm-12-2am and speeds become unusable sometimes its 200kbps down 56-500kbps up. So i was like im not paying 189 bucks for this and went back with exede after i found out about the generous Unlimited plan they now offer. Which looks like its only going to get better when viasat 2 goes online for public use. I just hope i can switch to it since i just signed a 2 year contract. But what i really am waiting for is not sure of its official name but i read about it somewhere i'm going to call it Viasat 3, This bird is supposed to be a even lower orbit sat that can compete with landline latency of a low of 45ms. But yeah i do still use the 4g modems but only to game with certain games that need it and i use prepaid now. But if anyone plays Elder scrolls online i play that and Final Fantasy 14 ARR let me know your info and we will have to get together. And on a another note i'm actually surprised at how well Exede works with these games.

I wanted one of those, till I considered how hot my closet would get, the FX8350 keeps it pretty warm in my room year round.

It's water cooled simply because that's what it takes.  I really like it and it has no secret systems in it like Intel has been exposed as having in theirs.  I run Windows 7 Pro and absolutely refuse that formidable Trojan Horse called Windows 10 (they handed it out for free and even went so far as to force it on people for a reason).  Win-7 won't get CPU optimizing support from Microsoft for the new AMD Zen chips, so I went with the most awesome thing AMD has for my Win-7 machine.  That CPU with a 1TB Samsung 960 Pro M.2/NVMe SSD as the system drive made this thing fly rather well.  I still use old-fashion HDD's for storage, all 17TB of it.  long live Seagate, I have the SalvationDATA® Disk Doctor for them in case something goes wrong with a drive.

Could always go *Nix with Ryzen, forgot the name of it, but there is a program out there that works along side Wine that enables automated customization for several of the more popular games so that they work properly on the system.

Plus, if you really need Win7...  Suppose you could always virtualize it in Nix :)
