It may be that you looked at your usage prior to shutting down your computer and since then the Surbeam modem updated your total usage shortly after turning off the computer.  It can take as long as 24 hours for the modem to update completely.

Next time you go to your Exede dashboard, be sure to read the print below your data meter.  It will explain to you that if your modem is offline, it cannot update so plugging it in after a month will show the last updated figures prior to being disconnected.  It will update within 24 hours after being put back online.

that does not explain why they say I went over for the month. I was not on for 2 weeks and then used very little.

no I have the same problems sometimes and I even let the modem (update) as yall say. a way to check this lie is to unplug the lan cable several hours before unplugging the modem or  leave the modem on and just unplug the lan cable out of the back of it and you will still see useage.

Shut down everything dealing with Apple iCloud. It uses a lot of data in the background without your knowledge. Since I shut down mine, I have been closer to normal.

Hello Stanley, our champion Craig is correct. If you’re comparing the data usage from the time you shut down, the usage meter is intended to be used as a guide to help you monitor your usage totals. It can take up to 24 hours to reflect updates. If your modem is currently offline, the Usage Meter will not update and may not display your correct readings

Hi Josh, send an email to exedelistens@visat.com with your account and contact information.  We can give you a call and do some troubleshooting. Is your router off as well?  Do you have any other devices connected?
