It's not a question of "How can you record into this Roku device?". The question is, "Why don't people on here use a language other people can understand?"
"What is a "Roku" device?" I've never heard of such a thing. Once someone explains it, I may wish I hadn't heard of it then.

Albert,

A Roku is a streaming device that lets you watch Netflix, etc... on your TV. You can find more information about it at https://www.roku.com/products/roku-2

Because in a technical world accurate terminology is needed for the correct answers.

"How can I record into this thing-a-ma-jig?" is simply too open ended.

But to answer and add to the original question, no it's not a recording device - as Joshua notes it's a streaming device for online content. This is not to say that it can't be done through other means, but that would be wrong for copyrighted content.

Thank you for your explanation. I think I can do without wasting my money on something I don't need.

Hi Ana,

Here is a link to the Roku 2 quick start guide, which might help you get going https://wwwimg.roku.com/static/guides/Roku_2-QuickStartGuide.pdf

If you continue to have questions, I would contact Roku support. You can find more information at https://support.roku.com/hc/en-us/.

Additionally, remember the devices like the Roku use quite a bit of bandwidth and you may run over your data cap quite quickly by using a Roku.

Thanks,
Joshua

Hi  Ana and Albert,  Joshua is correct. Be careful with the Roku as it uses a lot of data.  Here is a link with additional insight on data usage;  http://help.exede.net/articles/General/Maximize-Your-Data.

Joshua thank you!

That explains why I didn't know what it is. I don't watch Netflix, or, anything like it. If we want to watch a movie, &, there's nothing good on tv, we take one off our shelf. We have quite a few. We have DVD's & VHS. If we can't find anything we want to watch there, we sometimes turn on the radio. Or, we play one of our instruments. We make our own music.
