I don't know if there is another way, but you can call exede voice and ask them to reset your system so that the voice mail picks up in a whole lot of rings; then you make sure to set your answering machine to pick up in fewer rings. your answering machine will then be what picks up and exede's voice mail never will unless you turn off your answering machine.

I agree. That's how I handled it. Set my Exede Voicemail to pick up after 8 rings, and my in-house answering machine to pick up after 4. When there's a power outage here, which is pretty frequent during winter storms, the Exede Voicemail comes through for me, and sends the voicemail to me by email attachment, which I can check from anywhere with my smartphone.
