I just received a new computer. Do I need to do anything special to connect it my service, or do I just plug it in to the modem?

If this is the only device you want to connect to the internet, then yes, plug it into the modem using an Ethernet cable. If you have more than one device, then you will need a router, normally a wireless router, and then connect each device using the wireless or Ethernet connections on the router.

As stated above, either plug it in to the modem using an Ethernet cable, or enter the wifi password when the device asks for it.

The wifi password should be on a sticker on your modem if you have not changed it. If you have then you will need to get support to help you reset the wifi password.

Here's the instructions for changing your wifi password.  You'll need a device that can connect wired to the modem, or at least one that's already on the network.

I am getting a desktop but I will also still be using my wireless which I use for my laptop and television when streaming Netflix. Will there be any problems with my wifi once I hook up my desktop,
and do I hook it into my wifi router?

You will need to connect the desktop into the wifi router with an Ethernet cable, however if your desktop has built in wifi adapter, you can just connect the desktop through the wifi. You should not have any problems with connecting several devices through your wifi. I have 9 devices connected, never had any problems.
