how can I disable wifi on my modem/router

I'm looking to upgrade my router and need to know how to turn off my exede modem/router's wifi to prevent interferance

From what has been discussed on this forum in the past, it does not appear that you can shut off the wifi in your Exede modem. In order to use a separate router, and not have interference problems, all you will need to do is to change the new routers IP address.Typically, routers come with a default IP address of, just change it to something like and you will be all set.

to disable wifi, go to Wifi Settings -> Advanced Settings, and change Network Mode to 'disabled'
