I don't know how to get in wildblue to change the settings
wher on the site map do I go? And if I get there can you have both pop3 and imap. also will that let WLM send to wildblue.net? I seem to be full of questions. Is WLM the same as Hotmail & outlook .com?

Use your email login and password then set all the other options in your "New account" options...
WLM is an email client...if you've never configured an email client before you may be better off asking a knowledgeable friend to help you with the configuration...
You can use WLM from any computer that has WLM installed as long as your account information is configured correctly,
This may add additional help for you:

You can have many different accounts and your Hotmail account is just one. I have 3 different email accounts in mine.
When you click Tools/Accounts look to the right side of that panel and select "New"...
This will open a panel with all the options noted in my first post. Each account will have the option to "Include this account when receiving or syncing email" and you can also select which account you want to be "Default" account, which will determine the "From" information when you create a new email and then click the "Send/Receive button in WLM.
Again, I think you're confused enough to ask a friend for help. Your Hotmail account has nothing to do with sending/receiving email to/from your @wildblue.net account. So stop worrying about the Hotmail password, it's not needed to setup your new account for @wildblue.net,,,you will need to know your login name and password for your @wildblue.net account.
Right now, do you use WLM to create new email and send it? Or do you use your browser to log into your Hotmail..com account and create/send new email from there?
You can't create new email from Hotmail and send it using your @wildblue.net account..you have two choices, create a new account for wildblue.net in WLM or use your browser and log into your wildblue.net and create/send email from there.

The ability to add new email accounts may have been relocated dependent on which version of WLM you are using. Try the following:
Click the blue Windows Live Mail button located on the top-left corner of the application window.
When the menu appears click Options and then Email accounts...
Then you'll need to know the general settings available from:
http://help.exede.net/articles/General/POP-IMAP-settings-for-Exede-and-WildBlue-email
The choice to use POP3 vs. IMAP is mutually exclusive and depends on your preferences. IMAP is typically used by those who wish to synchronize their email across multiple devices since all email is left on the email server itself; POP3 allows downloading from the server and deleting from the server.

You're not using smtp.wildblue.net port 465,587 are you?
Should be either 465 --OR-- 587, not both. :)
(Just fixed mom & dad's email for that same issue, about a month ago)
Your account settings should read:
mail.wildblue.net -- Port 993 -- SSL {encryption}
smtp.wildblue.net -- Port 465 -- SSL {encryption}

IF I go to hot mail and send to wildblue it works but from WLM it does not.

Set up the new account as IMAP and copy the incoming (mail.wildblue.net) and outgoing (smtp.wildblue.net) with the incoming port 993 and outgoing port 465

Norman, set it up as a POP for incoming mail...SSL checked for both and the option "My server requires authentication" checked.
Make sure the login and password entries are exactly the ones you use to log into your wildblue.net account with your browser...
Use all lower case for all entries in the new account.
You can use 465 OR 587 as port number for smtp...not both .
Create a new email and send it using your @wildblue.net account....to do this make sure under the accounts pane you click your new wildblue account and select "Make this my default"...when you click the Send/Receive button on WLM your outgoing email will be sent or you'll get an error message...what does that message say? There should also be an error code in that message if it fails to work..

When you create a new email, before you send it, right-click the "From" field and select "Properties"..if it does not show it's coming from you at your wildblue.net then you've not switched the default.
Please report your results as going to your Hotmail inbox or wildblue inbox...it does not go to WLM, WLM is a local program on your computer....it's difficult to interpret your results when you keep referring to your Hotmail account as WLM....

Lets attack your setup one step at a time..
First, use your browser and log into your Hotmail.com account. From there send yourself a test message using your wildblue.net address in the "To" field. Just say "Test message" in the email your create.
Next, wait a couple of minutes and close your browser and open WLM.... Click the Send/Receive button and see if it retrieves your test message and downloads it to your Inbox. This will verify your basic account information for POP is working.
If that fails close WLM and use your browser to log into your wildblue.net account and verify that the email you sent from Hotmail.com is really there. Post back with those results.

I go to hotmail and send to wildblue and everything works good but when I go to WLM and click on send & receive nothing comes up.It fails and can't send
with The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was 'neystad@wildblue.net'.

For your email login name make sure you include @wildblue.net and for password use the same password you use with your browser to log in. Also check the "Remember password option".
Make sure there is no checkmark on the "Login using secure Password" option.
Can you use your browser and log into your @wildblue.net account..?
If you can then use the exact entries for WLM account.
Or you have a typo somewhere in server addresses or port numbers,
