I need to cancel my service. Of course it is impossible to do online in account management. Even more frustrating is the fact that when I call the provided phone number I am met with a recording that says my number indicates I purchased Exede through a wholesaler and need to call them. HOW?

Unfortunately the way a wholesale accounts work is that they are handled 100% by whomever set you up with the service for the entire life of the account. The normal Exede agents won't have access to the account let alone be able to cancel it for you. Usually these are set up with a Dish Network bundle via a local dealer. I have seen a few mislabeled. You can do a live online chat at https://www.exede.com/contact-us-exede/ and that will at least confirm if you are a wholesale account.

I tried the online chat and received a message that it was down. I called the same number (as listed in my account) that I've called for all other service needs - I did not purchase my contract through Dish or any other service
