I had WB thru VEA for several years. My service has now been suspended. VEA said they no longer use WB. What about my reopening my account? I have over 10 years of stored info on my account (kenava@veawb.coop) ! Can you help me??

I was with the co-op Valley Electric and Wild Blue for at least 10 years.  I moved and contacted Valley Electric and they told me I could keep my EMAIL  kenava@veawb.coop.
Then suddenly I could not get in, they said I was suspended.  No notice, no warning, NOTHING.  Just cut me off.  All my info for those years GONE??  Valley electric told me to contact Wild Blue to see if they could get me back in.  When I tried to reach Wild Blue I was referred to EXEDE.  WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY ACCOUNT AND IMPORTANT  INFORMATION?  i REALLY NEED SOME ANSWERS FROM SOMEONE......

Hi Kenabeth,

Have you tried contacting Exedelistens@viasat.com? We can't make changes to your account via this forum, but we'd be happy to help if you contact us directly. Thanks!

Based on that email address, it would appear that the Valley Electric Association coop had a wholesale relationship with Wildblue/Exede (or more collectively Viasat since Wildblue and Exede are products offered by ViaSat); Viasat only provides the physical infrastructure. In the case of a wholesale relationship VEA provides email and other administrative services (e.g. billing, support). Since your email would reside on a server not under ViaSat's control, you'd need to contact VEA to recover any information stored on their servers even if you were to contract with Viasat at your new location.

I did contact VEA and they said that WB would have my files.  That they did not, but possibly WB could help locate them.

I had Wildblue through a COOP too. I think it was like Old Labs said, the COOP handles the email if you have Wildblue through a COOP. I suspect the person you talked to didn't actually know where your email came from. I hate to say it but my guess is the COOP canceled the email with who ever it was through and your mail is gone.

You might do a a Google search for Nevada electric coop Exede and it should give you the COOPs there still using Exede (worked for me in Texas). Call one of them, ask for the person that handles Exede and ask them about their email and who is their email provider or it they know who would. It might work.

VEA is a NRECA (National Rural Electric Cooperative Association) member. NRECA is a sister organization/partner of NRTC (National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative) which has a wholesale relationship with Wildblue/Exede for internet service only. Your files and email likely reside on everyone.net, which provides those services to NRTC and are ourside ViaSat's control.

My email was suspended without notice and was told that there was too much spam. The spam only occurred after the so called "new" email system was put in place. I have fired wildblue for the slower than phone system services, their bad equipment (my modum has not worked for over 6 months), and horrible customer service. In the meantime they haven't sent the promised box to return their worthless equipment. BUYERS BEWARE! GOOD LUCK ON GETTING ANYTHING DONE--AND GETTING YOUR MONEY'S WORTH. THESE PEOPLE HAVE SET THEMSELVES UP TO POINT THE FINGER AT EVERYONE ELSE FOR THEIR PROBLEMS WHILE THEY EMPTY YOUR WALLET.
