Looking over many low speed questions, I noticed that one question is always asked ... ' Have you been DAP'd".  I don't think I've been DAP'd.  How do you tell if you have Been DAP'd.  Does Exede notify you if you have been DAP'd ?  I haven't received any such notice.  I'm not that I even what all DAP'd Means. Would someone give me the correct answer?

Willy, you can tell if you are DAP'd by checking your data meter. If it is at 100%, you are DAP'd.

Exede normally ends you an email to your address on file with your account when you hit 70% with a warning, then another one when you hit 100%.

When you are DAP'd, your speeds will be significantly slower, and some websites may not load at all.

Steve,

Does that mean that Exede will deliberately slow down my data speed if I go over my data limit??

That worries me.  I think I read on some post that a user was having a hard tine getting un DAP'd.

How would I get UN DAP'd ???

Willy

LNFZ is the Late Night Free Zone, runs from midnight to 5 a.m. your local time, any data used during that time is not counted toward your monthly allotment.

The EBFZ is the Early Bird Free Zone, runs from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m., for those on the Evolution plans. The LNFZ is for Classic plan users.

Nah, you're answer to the question was correct - I was just providing an alternate for those of us who think sleep is over rated when little time remains ;)

Lab, the LNFZ is one of the best features of Exede, great for those large downloads without having the data put on the tab.

I just read another post about a user not being able get out of being DAP'd.

I wounder if users getting DAP'd  for some unknown reason or software glitch causing all the low speed post.

I sure hope that the people that wrote the software for 'THE AFFORDABLE  CARE ACT'  didn't write the software for Exede.

Not to worry, relief is on the way for NY, LA, SF and DC with the stroke of a pen or a phone call.

But Chatanooga, Cedar Falls and KC are looking good. Although it appears Snoopy's brother, Spike, in Needles AZ will still be stuck on Exede with a high data deductible.

Typical of a politician to think that all people, and businesses are located in the big cities. I live in the "other" New York, 250 miles NW of the "city" New York. Two years ago,our state government awarded large dollar grants to the cable companies to bring  high speed broadband internet to the rural areas of the state. The cable companies chose to take this money and upgrade the 50 Mbps service to 250 Mbps service along the same lines already being served. Not a single mile of lines were extended to add service to those area not previously served. Time Warner has been promising to extend the cable system to cover my house for over 20 years now, but nothing ever happens. Their line ends just one mile from my house. So much for the politicians actually understanding the eral problem of those of us in the rural area.

I check the site.  Now I'm really scared

Kentucky has an operation that may be similar.  I'll have to check it out..

Willy, all you have to do to get DAP'd is use up your monthly data allotment. Exede won't DAP you for any other reasons.

We generally let Steve handle the confusing questions. He has much more patience than the rest of us. However, you'll find we are quick to jump to Kimberly's defense since she has the patience of a saint and since Steve provided you an answer prior to your swipe  at her - but as Steve often says, Happy Motoring!

Can I take your post that you agree with Steve's answers and have nothing to add that might enlighten me further??

I have noticed that some people are quick to defend any of the Exede advisers.

Why is Kimberly's  down talking question with no details is acceptable but my question was a swipe at her. ?
