I stated using Exede in Feb got the Liberty plan with 30 gb with 25 boost. I ran out of data the in the first 10 days. I thought "What did I get myself into? I called and I was so aggravated at customer service and told her I would probably cancel my contract & go back to Hughes net & pay the termination fee. Well I decided to give it another month. I started doing Google searches on data usage. I was really surprised of the things using my data. I started fixing and to my surprise I had data left over at the end of the month. I upgraded my plan to 50gb and still have 30gb & 7 days left. Thank you, Exede. I'm very well satisfied!

I have never had a problem with data, or with speed either.

Personally, I take the position that it is my data and that I will decide how it is used.  The worst offenders I have seen when it comes to burning up my data are: Microsoft; various "front running" antivirus companies like Avast and AVG; DirectTV and similar "genies"; and most websites with their tons of streaming garbage.  However, I'm certain that there are many more data burners out there and that they are just as wasteful with your data.

Further, there are plenty of things other than data and speed to like about the Exede connection, a major one being security.  It is much more comforting to have your own IP address on the internet, meaning that there is no network between you and the internet that can be hacked, and that you show up on the http://www.grc.com Shields Up test as having no reverse DNS and having all TCP ports stealthed, meaning that a passing hacker has no way to find out if you are even there.

Awesome Nell!

We're glad you found a plan that works for you. It's super-surprising to see what  data goes towards and how much some simple activities use. HUGE pet peeve of mine is news sites playing a video as you are reading the article. Stuff like that can burn data as well.
