It's not a pause in billing process. Did you demonstrate your inability to pay or convey your financial circumstances beforehand? Otherwise everyone would simply stop paying. That applies to other areas besides Viasat. The time to do these things is obviously before the bill comes due and make arrangements or fall prey to the whims of some automated system written by bunch of nerds and speced out by a bunch of suits who couldn't program their way out of a wet paper bag.
But thanks for the reminder, I'm checking all my accounts to ensure automatic payment info is up to date having been reissued a couple cards due to recent data breaches. The again, all of those companies actually send me a heads up before dinging the account(s) even if they don't know what the exact charge is going to be.
Don't know how Viasat handles it since I'm billed through NRTC - but it wouldn't really kill Viasat to send an email reminding that a payment is coming up - from the complaints here it appears they don't extend that common courtesy.
