I think someone came into my house and got my ip address. I have had the computer cleaned but he still seems to be on my computer . Any Ideas how to fix this? I have ask viasat to replace my modem as I have to unplug it all the time to reboot it to get it to work. They will not replace it. If they can not do anything than I need to leave this company and go with another.

Judy, what makes you think there is a virus on your computer? Is it behaving strangely? If so, how?

By the modem not working do you mean it is not connected to the internet or, do you mean that your devices will not connect to the modem?

Do you have a separate router or the Viasat wifi modem?

Viasat uses a dynamic IP Address so you don't have the same one all of the time, it will change when you disconnect or reboot and, if you manually release and renew your ip address..

We need a bit more information, details of what is going wrong for you in order to help you.

As far as the modem is concerned I do not have a router with it. It will show on the computer that all is connected but you can not get into a website. I have to unplug the modem and replug it to reset it. Pain In the butt.

Has this been going on for a long time, or just yesterday and today? If it's just yesterday and today, there is a network outage that can cause that. If it's longer than that, call support or, email viasatlistens@viasat.com and describe the problem.

This has been going on for a few months. Have already called support and they say there is nothing they can do as it shows fine on their end.

I am not exactly sure what makes you think there is a problem?

If Customer care says everything is good, that means the modem is connected, it's online, the TRIA is working and, the dish is aligned properly. It isn't the modem, it isn't Viasat, it's your equipment.

That could be a failing cable, Ethernet card, poor location if using wifi too far form the modem, virus or malware on the computer. Lack of updates to the operating system and/or drivers, anything like that.
