I agree, I don't think people realize how much time they really use the internet. There is no reason for a company to cheat you. Exede is a big company and it would take a few people to make it so you would be using more then you really are. I thing they have better things to do with their time then trying to find a way to rip people off a little bit of time. I think a lot of time you don't catch like MSM.com pops up with a video one the news page. I wish I could turn that stuff off. If I want to see the video, I would click on it. While you are on that page, there goes some of your time down loading that video you did ask for. A lot of pages I have found this happens. Some times I back out fast, but I am sure its to late the video has already down loaded. Another big eater is if you have a cloud, it runs and you don't know it. I use to us Evernote all the time, just about every 15 minutes its doing something and poof there goes your megs. I took it out of my start up and anything else that runs in the back ground. I like Evernote, I scanned all my bills, letter, special announcement and just about anything I would normally file. So when I needed something, all I had to do is type in something that has to do with what I want and it brings up my list of things I have in storage. I am trying to set it up so I can continue to use the program and not the cloud. I have two external hard drives, so what I put on one, it is set up to copy to the other too. So this way I have two copies, just in case. I have not figured it out how to do it with Evernote or how to get my information off of the EVernote cloud. I have taken all my pictures and what ever I had on a cloud and put on my external hard drive. This is cutting down on my internet time. Been spending a lot of time after mid night to get all my pictures back home. Also trying to find out a way to do this with my smart phone. Most people, same as me has the phone set up that when you take a picture it goes to the cloud. I want to make it so when I come home it goes to my home wireless backup system.
So just check how much stuff you have running in the back ground. Even updates, some programs are set up to in you task, to check every now and then for updates. Well checking for that update is eating up my time. You normally know when there is a update and you can do it at night, or check your task, and see if anything is set to check once a day, or every 15 minutes, what ever. I changed all of those to do after midnight. So just a few ideas when you thing they are cheating you, investigate your computer, check home many times some one in the family watches a video even on face book. That program can really eat up you time.
So they are not cheating you, no reason for them too, you might just be cheating yourself and not know it. Check you start up menu, your tasks that is set up and what you have on the clouds.
Enjoy, and hopefully some day we will have unlimited service. But don't hold your breath. LOL
