Plus, we'll give you 1 free gig of data just for giving it a try! Here's how to get started:

  • Open Facebook Messenger on your computer or phone and search for Exede EasyChat — or just click this link: m.me/exedeeasychat
  • Click on Get Started and follow the prompts. You'll need to have your account phone number handy to register.
Here's a short video to show you how it works.

EasyChat is a Facebook Messenger bot, which means it uses artificial intelligence and natural language to deliver information quickly. Once you verify your account with your phone number and an email code, you can use EasyChat for all this:

• View your monthly usage meter

• Buy More data  (The first time you Buy More data using EasyChat, you’ll get 1 free gig!)

• Set up usage alerts

• Connect to live agent chat

• Have an agent email you

• Change your installation date/time (new customers only)

• Get installation notifications

Coming soon, we'll add ways to view and pay your bill, reset your modem and lots more.

Give feedback on EasyChat — Reply to this post or email exedebotfeedback@viasat.com with any comments you may have about the Exede bot.

EasyChat is part of our ongoing effort to give customers many options for contacting us and getting help. If EasyChat isn't for you, you can always use our other methods of contact here or view your account information at MyExede.net.

There are lots of other fun bots available in Messenger, including ones that give you weather updates, connect you to your favorite store or update your travel/flight info. You can find a list of bots here.

You've made this thing dependent on a 3rd party system.  Why not host this yourself on a ViaSat / exede server?

Not everybody subscribes to Facebook.  Some of us refuse to have our lives, our friends, families, and every aspect of our lives searchable /hack-able on a database we have no control over.

And since you are offering something for free: (consideration; (free data, extended services)) it is either a contest or a lottery, something that has legal ramifications either way.  Think about this a bit.

Craig, this is an entirely option tool. We have several other ways for customers to get this info. If it's not for you, don't use it.
The reason we used this Facebook Messenger tool is that a lot of people already have it, so we're able to piggyback on the functionality without the hassle of yet another app people have to download.
The free gig is just a gift, not a contest or a lottery.

Does signing up for this cancel the use of eSVT for me? I'd like to check it out but don't want to lose the other.

No, you can sign up for the Messenger version from Exede and still use the My eSVT tool. However, according to Exede Alex, the eSVT tool will nor be available for use after July 22.

El Wi, most of us are not happy about losing access to the My eSVT tool, however, Exede Alex has promised an enhanced ersion of the Exede Dashboard which will provide us with much of the information. Let's hope that is coming, sooner than later.

Thanks for providing this added convenience to your subscribers Alex.  Another extra thing Exede does for their customers, like this forum, that they don't have to do.

First were told, don't use Facebook because it uses too much data, and now we're supposed to go there and get a free gigabyte. Wouldn't you use the gigabyte up just setting up the account?

These should be very low bandwidth activities. We don't say don't use Facebook. You just need to be careful of auto-loading videos.

Alex, is there a phone number I can call about my Wildblue/Exede account? I need to find out what is going on with my system and the local provider's phone has been disconnected which does not speak well for you.

Well, it's finally working for me but, same data as on the customer portal - just a total of how much has been used and, when I paid my last bill. Can't see even what date usage was reported on, nor what the data was used for - not helpful and, easier just to look at the portal to see that information.

I hope this is just a trial run and, more details will be available in the NEAR future.
