Freedom Plan in west central Missouri

When I enter my zip code it states it is available but when I go into my exede, it does not list it as an available plan. Why can some in an area code get it and others not? I have been first a Wildblue customer, then Exede through Dish and now Exede directly for many years. It appears loyalty gets you nothing. I posted this as a comment to another conversation then realized that you prefer a new post for a new question.

Hi Donna,We appreciate your loyalty and would love to offer you the Freedom Plan. It’s not uncommon in the telecommunications world to have different plans and packages available in different areas.  We’re hard at work to bring improved plans to as many parts of the country as possible when we can offer this kind of incredible data plan without compromising service speed and quality.

When we launch our next satellite in 2017, we’ll have substantially more flexibility in terms of usage and bandwidth across the country. There is no defined timeline for this, so we ask for your patience.

Post your zip code and let others check it, and maybe Diana can tell you why your zip code tells you the Freedom plan is available for you and how to ask for it...it may require you to call Exede to make the switch...

My zip code is 64153. Most of this zip code has Time Warner available. Some also has Google Fiber. There is just a small amount of this zip code that would ever need Exede.

The beam you are in covers much more than just your zip code, usually your whole state or even more, so there are probably many in your beam who don't have access to cable or fiber.

I know the beam covers a large area. That is not the point.

When I go to the Exede home page where is says to input your zip code to see if service is available and what plans are available, it says based on my own zip code that the Freedom plan is available. That would indicate that someone in my own zip code can get Freedom plan. The input on the home page asks for a zip code so you would think that they would have it broken down by zip codes. My point is that then when I go into my personal account it states it is not available. There is a very small amount of my zip code that would even want Exede since most have much better and cheaper options. Based on this it appears that current customers cannot get the Freedom plan in my particular zip code but new customers can.

Donna, please ask the Exede moderators for the Freedom Plan since it is shown when you enter your zip code, as wm4bama stated above. Send your account number and phone number to exedelistens@viasat.com.

Read Exede Diana's post of earlier today here: https://community.exede.com/exede/topics/freedom-plans-available-in-more-areas?topic-reply-list%5Bse...

It seems the Freedom plan in most all zip codes are available for new customers only...there may be a few exceptions for existing customers in under-utilized beams but not for zip code 64153..

But you should call 855-627-2554 just to verify that..
