It depends on which plan you're on:

Original Exede 12 plans: 12:00 AM - 5:00 AM
Evolution plans: 3:00 AM to 8:00 AM
Essential 10 plan : 3:00 AM to 8:00 AM
Liberty plans: none
Freedom plan: none

You should be able to tell which plan you're on from your account page.

Hello Sammy,

The Free Zone is a great time to download software updates, stream video, upload photos and other large files or anything else you want to do online.

The Free Zone hours are set to your local time zone and vary with each plan:

Classic Exede: Late Night Free Zone (10, 15 or 25GB): Daily from 12 midnight to 5 a.m.
Evolution: Early Bird Free Zone: Daily from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Essential 10: Early Bird Free Zone: Daily from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Liberty & Freedom: No Free Zone

what is the difference between Cassic Exede and Exede Essential they are both 10GB's. i guess what i'm asking is why am i not on the same free zone as Classic Exede or is this another gimmick of Exede's to get you to pay more money to get the earlier free time zone?

None other than the free zone period. Every zip code I check shows Essential 10 being offered at $39.99 per month now (some have the SpeedBoost option available and there is no Exxential 15 or 25). It appears that the Classic plans are being phased out in favor of Liberty Plans. The Classic Free late night zones have been saturated for quite some time now and those on congested beams are finding them to be of little use during the first 2 - 3 hours - the Liberty Plan model is here to stay and ViaSat is just stretch it's fixed resource until the next satellite is launched.

If you've got another viable option, go for it - most off us would.
