I've been waiting years for viasat 2. THe last promise was late summer. Now it's "sometime" in 2018. I give up. Presently I'm looking into other internet options. Looks like I'll need to sacrifice speed for unlimited data use-, but that's ok. At least my best choice is a local company that treats its customers well.

"In the context of spaceflight, a launch window is a time period during which a particular vehicle must be launched in order to reach its intended target. If the rocket is not launched within that 'window', it has to wait for the next available window."
It's not as simple as waking up and saying let's drive down to the beach today...
"If a satellite were launched at the wrong time of the day in perfect weather, the satellite could end up in an orbit that would not pass over any of its intended users. Timing is everything!"
Once launched it can take up to 6 months to actually get the satellite to its assigned orbit position and placed into actual service - as I recall for ViaSat-1 it took some 3 months or so after launch to place it into service for the first few beams.
