So many complaints! I Like to add some more: I keep being punished for supposedly exeding the 10GB I am to be able to use with my plan, my wife uses the Chrome book for checking facebook, weather and on-line TV guide afew hours per week I use the computer for ocassioanlly ordering from Amazon and checking e mails, fewer time usage than my wife, I do use the ROKU to download movies only between 12:00 PM and 5:00 AM, which is not supposed to count towards the 10 GB, the last billing cycle according to Exede I exausted my 10 GB on 1 day, talked to their customer service, they told that a lot of customers get their router password compromised and someone else is downloading without my knowledge, If they have that many customers complaining about the same issues, why aren't they providing the routers and taking over their security just like ATT? or cable companies I THINK THIS COMPANY IS STEALING GBs FROM ME AND OTHERS LIKE ME IN THE HOPE THAT WE PURCHASE ADDITIONAL GBs. DID YOU KNOW ALSO THAT THEY OFFER NEW CUSTOMERS THE SAME GBs FOR HALF THE PRICE! I FIRMLY BELIEVE THEY WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS IN LESS THAT TWO YEARS, I JUST SAW IN AMAZON A ROUTER YOU CAN BUY WITHOUT GB LIMTS FOR ONLY $ 50.00 PER MONTH. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TECHNICAL HELP STINKS, SINCE IT IS ALWAYS THE CUSTOMER'S FAULT, DID A FULL COMPUTER SACN AND CHANGED MY ROUTER TO A SECURIFI "ALMOND" RATHER THAQN CHANGING MY PASSWORD SINCE THEIR SECURITY IS UNREPROCHEABLE, I WONDER WHAR EXEDE WILL COME UP WITH NEXT TIME!

Chromebook is a huge data hog, since everything is cloud based. It is best if it is turned off except during the LNFZ.

Exede has over 650,000 subscribers, and only a small percentage are having problems with data usage being excessive. There are many things that devices are doing in the background that take data that can usually be controlled once you identify them. It is not easy to locate them, but it is possible with some effort.

I want to know how in 2days time I have used 37% of my data?!  I, along the 3 other customers that I know, are experiencing the same issue!  We do NOT watch movies, play games or surf the web other than Facebook.  Facebook is set to NOT auto run videos.  I only have 2gb on my cell phone and use it a LOT more than I use the internet at home and do NOT run out of data!  I am at the point of cancelling this service.

Hello carlene, cell data differs from satellite usage drastically. I have a 5GB plan through my carrier and a 15GB plan through my internet provider and I go through the satellite data wayyyy quicker. A lot of things can sneak up on you and eat away at your data, many times without your knowledge. Read all the other complaints, my wife doesn't do anything cloud connected, only checks a few things on it and not everyday, always turn everything off, I don't want to become their unpaid technician. I think they are scammers!

Sure hope so. My daughter has unlimited internet through forget who but pays over $70.00 a month for it. Since we are retired and on small pension and SS I can find better things to do with my money. She also has trouble with her internet at times.

I agree and can't get this resolved. Glad other ppl sent having this issue and Everett is running over with joy with wildblue/excede but I can sympathize with those who are being cheated out of their data. I have gotten no solution to this issue.

My Exede account has never gone over the monthly limit. I usually has some Gig's left over with my wife and I on the internet quite a lot really.

Once in a while we will watch a movie, but not a lot. My wife plays games online, not WoW, but Lord of the Rings, and spends a lot on time on Facebook checking out a few YouTube videos, and other websites.

I watch a few YouTube videos every week, and download more during the late night free zone. We also download movies from Amazon and Netflix during LNFZ to add to our library for viewing at a later time.

Any questions I have had where answered within 24 hours or less from the Exede help rep's. Always very courteous and handled my problem to my satisfaction. They also have made offers to give me free Gig's if I wanted, but I have not had the need.

The norms for our speed has been more than advertised, but at times we have noticed they slowed down on weekends or when a storm moved in. But we still had plenty of juice to do the normal web surfing we like.

I would like more data (Gig's) to use in case we wanted to push it during the winter months when more of our time is spent inside. So I do plan on moving our Classic plan up to maybe the 25 Gig plan. Yes it does cost more, but what doesn't now days.

We live in a remote area and do not have access to any cable or DSL services. I would not move to gain cable service. Some people have issues with the Exede pricing and limited data caps. But cable customers are at times only 100 feet apart or less. The install takes a hour or less. If there is an outage, a truck drops by withing 24 hours or so.

If the Exede satellite where to pop a resistor and shut down. The fix could be billion's of dollars and the company could very well go out of business. Exede wants to expand and add a second satellite to provide better service. Why do they charge a little more than Cable or DSL? Common sense, the repair truck to the big head in shack in the sky cost a hell of a lot of money. Special gas I guess. ☺☺☺

I'm happy with my Exede service. I'm happy with the installer, the online rep's, and the by phone help staff. I read the reviews, the contract and all the helpful warnings and issues of satellite service be for I signed up. I did not think I could get unlimited cable service by going with Exede. It was spelled out petty well and I understood the limits.

It's not Cable or DSL, there are no lines running from my home. When I walk out my door, I hear bird's singing, not traffic or noisy neighbors. I'm paying for it and I like it. Let the saga continue Exede, let me know if you need any help or a few more buck's to make it better if possible.

Hi Everett--Guess what looks like going on 1 mile down the road from us! Looks like they are putting up a cell tower. Should get a good signal. Can get my cell phone to work. Will I give up Exede?? NO! I'm not having any problems so far. I'm happy with the service so far. :-)

You sure can. That's after tower is built.  They are now doing foundation figure be a coluple of years before they get it completed. HaHaHa
