We too run out of data and only use facebook and email. Exede isn't a bad service if we would just be able to use it. We should be able to get on demand and movies or whatever for $ 50 , 60 a month. That is a crazy price to pay for what we are all getting. i hope they address this soon. There are so many deals out there if only we could get them. We live in a rural area too and are limited. When that changes we too will be gone! I want my movies and on demand that I pay to get with direct tv. Just not fair to pay for something we can't even use!

Hello Cindy,

I definitely understand the frustration. Unfortunately satellite TV requires using an internet connection/data for on-demand movies. We do have a scheduled launch at the end of the year for ViaSat 2 and why I bring that up is because that will double our bandwidth which will allow for larger data plans, faster speeds and a lot more bandwidth to spread out than what we have floating up in space at the moment. These new plans and benefits will be a lot more friendlier to streaming and Video on Demand. If you're in an area that offers it and if you're not already on the plan, you may want to look into our Liberty plans. They do have a data limit but it's more flexible than traditional plans by slowing to 1-5mbps download speed after reaching primary data. It potentially could take more time to download but this might be a solution in the meantime for being able to load your on-demand movies.
