This is a question for those who have the new exede modem/router, and the great people on this forum. I've had it since I started the service in January. So far it's been working great. But lately it's been shutting down and restarting daily or even more often. When it's running it runs at normal speeds. Ping is 650-700 so that's great. My esvt shows all green lights. I've been shutting it off when I'm at work to see if that helps, but it hasn't. Anyone else having this issue?

I had the same problems until I used a fan to cool the unit. Since then everything has been great. They will claim that it is not necessary, but I went through 2 SB2+ before I started cooling myself.

I was surprised at how hot the Exede modem ran. I noticed that it had cooling holes in the bottom of the case, so to help these holes cool the modem I raised each end ot the modem on a block of wood. This raised  the modem off the carpet and to allowed more air to circulate through the holes in the bottom of the case.

You could also try using a small fan to blow air over the modem as an experiment to see if this helps your shutting down problem.

Thank you for the ideas. It's much appreciated. I bought a small fan today. I have noticed that the modem/ router does get hot and wondered about that. I'll see if the fan helps. Thanks again!
