For the past 2-3 days we have noticed that Exede goes down from around 930am until later in the morning. Looking at resources online, no clear reason is obvious, but the following links makes it appears as if there are many areas http://downdetector.com/status/exede/map/ with issues. My question to Exede is why does your internet connection go down so often? Are you over-committing bandwidth or some other reason?

I would say some other reason, the most recent rash of outages was most likely due to the heavy storms that were off and on over the south central and central US all last week. People will call and demand service be restored even in the middle of a raging thunderstorm. nothing anyone can do about that but, that's how people are. Even when  thy KNOW weather will cause them to loose connectivity until the storm passes, they call and demand service be restored NOW.

A few might be equipment issues, or the problems on beam 329 on pass data that I hear have been fixed now, but that was also just last week.

Congestion will sow but not disconnect your service at times. If the disconnect are happening at the same time everyday for more than a couple of days (that might be gateway maintenance) you should email exedlistens@viasat.com or call support at 855-463-9333 so that they can look at your account and see if they see an issue that needs attention.

Thank you. We'll keep an eye out on the disconnections and see what happens and see if we need to update the beam's firmware at some point (I hope that will happen automatically).
