Businesses with one or multiple locations may be interested in our new lineup of Exede Business plans, which feature persistent IP addresses, data plans up to 200 GB and metered data. There's also a 'Redundancy' plan if you want to add a reliable backup service to your existing ISP.

Check out more of the details here.

Read the press release announcing the new plans.

As a reminder, you can't use Exede residential service for your business, so these plans are the way to go. Also, if you are a residential customer and just need the bigger data plan and don't mind the cost, you can get one of these business accounts for your home. Just call 855-863-6566.

Thank you for the response.  How is the Exede router connected to my primary connectivity?  Is the failover automatic?  Are there any network diagrams that show how the systems connect?

Thanks!

Tim: You do have to get a failover switch; we don't provide those but the installer can help you with that.

OK...I need to draw this up for my boss.  Can you suggest a brand/model of failover switch?  Is there anything else?  Does the $299 install include all configuration?

Thanks!

Alex - Do business plan subscribers have a higher priority for access?  Or do they experience the full effects of congestion along with residential subscribers in certain beams?

JEP: They do not have any different priority that I'm aware of. Our assumption is that most businesses will be online during off-peak hours and be operating in less-congested times.

Alex - The business plans look attractive.  Is it my understanding that when you exceed your data cap, your speeds continue the same because you are automatically allocated additional data in 1GB/$10 chunks?

That's correct. It's a metered plan, more like a cell plan.

While the whole pricing scheme is too high, the 50 G plan, if guaranteed speeds seems fairly affordable.

So it seems that Exede does have additional capacity,

Anyway, i find your assumption of businesses on line during off peak yours, most likely a big CYA assumption.

Ie you purchase this plan and try to conduct business in the evening, being either teaching, consulting, conducting research etc. and could find yourself with possibly the same or possibly too slow data speeds.

So without priority, and having to get the job done anytime around the clock becomes a crap shoot.

Why won't Exede commit to guaranteed data speeds,  4 to 15, so whats new, just more data, more gear, and an installation fee..

Reduces it's attractiveness.

Now just to show my objectivity and fairness, i do run daily speed tests on my system, and i have been getting pretty consistent good speeds, > 10 down and around 2 up, and i do rate exede/wildblue with either 4 or 5 stars, but it is still too expensive.

Michael - Did you call the phone number and ask?  The business plans can not be set up on the web like the residential plans.
