Evolution plan, worthless as of right now.

It was wonderful when I applied evolution plan, upgraded from basic 10GB plan, facebook, ebay pages etc etc ,they worked great and at normal speed when I went over data limit usage for few months until now, I called customer service and complained about this, that my facebook, ebay and other webpages were downloading at dail up speed and sometimes wont display any pictures and I thought Evolution plan was supposedly to prevent this from happening, customer service were no help at all fixing this problem, they just buttered me up with free extra 5GB and other things but that will NOT fix the problem I'm experiencing. So what's the point having Evolution Plan when customer service rep is telling you that unlimited webpage will only work on text and basic pages ? Facebook and Ebay site, you wont see any pictures and I understood that any videos, uploading or downloading will be restricted once you go over data limit usage but not webpages so remember this, it was fine for few months until now. So looks like hook and bait to me and having Evolution plan is worthless right now and no difference or better than basic 10GB plan.  Why are they doing this ? Very disappointed customer right here..

That is disappointing to  hear.  We have not yet gone over the data plan and your experience, if it is typical, is definitely not what the claim they make about this plan to sell it to people.  We are just waiting to see what, if any, improvements they actually make in March for plans but are very likely to switch over to Hughes 50/50 plan unless some dramatic improvement is seen here.

I know someone in my area on the Evolution plan and they currently still have good speeds when they have gone over.  I would email exedelistens@viasat.com with your information and ask them to look into your account.

My understanding is that on this plan larger pictures may not load, but typical text and smaller images and graphics should load just as quickly as they did previously.  If that is not your experience, then I would call back to the customer service again and if you get the same answers, ask them to review your usage and then request to speak with a supervisor to confirm what the representative has told you.

It would seem there has been some work going on at Exede and maybe these are all just temporary issues that will be resolved shortly.

Hope they get you squared away.

here is simple idea of what went wrong, once you hit data limit, having unlimited webpage is pretty useless, it will not display any pictures, so I thought having Evolution plan, that wasn't supposed to happen even if you went over data limit, it should continue showing webpages at normal speed but with restricted video or trying to upload/download something, which is Im fine with that.

Here is a link to Exede explanation of the Evolution usage.  It would seem that I read somewhere that the Evolution plan does count some larger images as data, but based on this I may be wrong.

However, all other Internet usage will count toward your monthly data allowance, including Internet activity embedded in web pages or email, streaming video or audio media, playing online games, uploading or downloading files on a browser or through any third-party application, third-party applications, data (including web pages or email) transferred through a virtual private network or other forms of remote access, voice or video chatting, or sending or receiving emails with attachments greater than 25 MBs.

Based on what I read in these two things, you should not be seeing slowdowns on your connection. when viewing pages and checking webmail, ebay, etc.  There may be something else going on that can explain the issues.  Definitely follow up with Amber by sending an email to the listed address and see if they can pinpoint the issue.
