Ethernet connection problems with Wi-Fi modem

My desktop and Smart TV was connected to the internet via Ethernet connectors on my old Wi-Fi router and when Exede replaced their modem with a new Wi-Fi one my Smart TV will not connect using the Exede Ethernet connector however my PC connects just fine. Does anyone have any ideas as to why?

However if I connect the OLD WI-FI router to the NEW EXEDE modem router via  Ethernet and then connect the Smart TV to a Ethernet plug on the OLD router the TV connects.

I had the same problem because my LAN is a mixture of wired and wireless devices. The Sb2+ is not a router but a shared gateway for two subnets  (wired and wireless). So what I did was put my existing router on the Ethernet jack of the Sb2+. and port forwarded every port to the old modem internet Ethernet connector. I also turned off the Sb2+ wireless interface. In other words, I'm using the Sb2+ as a modem!

Thanks Grumpyoldman, I think I will use a switch instead of the old wi-fi router.
