Erroneous data usage email

My data resets on the 12th of each month. Can someone in ViaSat tell me why I got an email telling me that I have already used up 70% or more of my allotment on the 19th? How is it possible to use up to 7GB of data in 1 week? Today, the 25th, I checked my data usage and it now shows I have used only 40%, which is normal????

They are always sending those messages. Maybe some one accidently hit the send button with your name.
One time I had got 5 extra gigs from great gig give away and hadn't used only maybe 1 gig. Now I just delete the messages. I have program SRT and that sits on my computer and keeps track of my data. They get the data  usage from Exede. It's handy for me if I see I'm getting near my quota-10 gigs I cut back a bit.

Besides the email I got, I checked my data usage on their website.  It, too, was showing 70%.  Today, 1 week later, it is now showing 40%.  Doesn't make sense to me.  This happened to me about a year ago - same thing - and I did get extra 5gb for free from them.  Didn't ask this time.
Also, what is SRT, how does it work, and where can I get it?  I would like to monitor my data usage with something other than their meter.

SRT is Satellite Restriction Tracker program.  http://realityripple.com/  that's the website. I have had good luck with it.
It has different settings. Here's a couple of pictures of mine
