Equipment fee again!

Excede has begun adding my equipment fee once again on my bill. I'm not as upset over the equipment charge as I am that they would do it without warning and unnanounced. Anyone else have this happen?

It may be that you prepaid your equipment rental fee when you signed up with Exede. That was for 24 months, after your 24 months has passed, you will be charge each month after that.

Hello al, do you remember if you had prepaid your lease fee as Steve stated above? This would be correct in regards to giving a time frame of when that would expire. Initially I prepaid my lease fee when I signed up for what was Wildblue at the time. And I understand the lease agreement. It was just very unexpected one month when I received a bill for over 90 dollars instead of my customary bill. At the time I could not figure it out, so  I called and customer service said there wasn't anything they could do. I wasn't looking for a refund of this new lease fee, just a notification that they were going to do it. It was an unexpected surprise.

Rental of the modem and tria, $9.99 a month. You may have paid the 2 year rental in a lump sum when you first signed up, but then after the 2 years is up, the monthly rental starts in.

I have been with wildblue since 2007. I have never paid an equipment fee. In 2013 when they forced me to change to Excede, it was $39.99 for a year then $49.99 for a year, now all of a sudden they are charging me an equipment fee. I never ever paid an equipment fee since I first got Wildblue in 2007. I never prepaid any equipment fee, this is ridiculous. Perhaps the question I need to be asking is what other satellite services are out there? After over an hour with customer service without any answers (except look up the contract that NO ONE CAN FIND), I've had it. When a company fails to honor it's original agreement, it is time to find something else.

It was $49.99 when I started in March 2013 and you had to have paid the equipment fee up for 2 years like I did (or else you got the two years free by mistake), it saved $40. I had to start paying the fee in March when my two years was up. The prices and fees, at least on the Classic plans, haven't changes since I started with Exede.
