Email STILL not working!

My email stopped working on September 17th.  I use Outlook 2010 with a verizon.net email domain that I purchased.  I signed up for Exede about 1 year ago and everything was working fine (i.e. able to send/receive emails) up until Sept 17th.  I'm still able to access the internet and this is just an email problem.  I know that it is an issue with Exede because if I take my laptop to another place with free wifi (i.e. Starbucks or my work), my email works just fine.  I didn't change any settings that would have caused this issue.  Again, I'm able to send and receive my emails just fine if I'm using another internet provider and am only experiencing this issue while at home and connected to my Exede service.  I have the same issue on my mobile devices (iPhone).  I'm able to send/receive email at home as long as I'm not connected to my Exede service and am just using my mobile phone network.  Help?

I posted this a few weeks ago and got a few replies from other Exede customers having the exact same problem.

I also received a very lame reply from an Exede customer service rep that included a link to 'Email Set-Up Configuration'.  Then they closed and archived the discussion as 'Problem Solved'.  The problem is NOT solved and I spent over 2 hours on the phone with an Exede technical support rep who could NOT solve my problem.

They asked me to check my email settings.  Don't you think I would have already done all that?  As I said in my original post, my email has been working fine for over a year and then suddenly stopped with NO changes in my settings.  I have 3 computers in this house and Outlook email stopped working on all three.  This is the error I receive:  'Outlook cannot connect to your POP3 server'. 

I can connect to the internet through my browser with no problems.

I can get my email through Outlook when I'm connected to another provider through a free wifi service at Starbucks.  I CAN'T connect through Outlook when I use Exede.  The problem is NOT with Outlook, my Verizon domain or my settings.  The problem is with Exede.  Help!

Exact same problem since 9/21.  Verizon troubleshooting has been unsuccessful.  My Apple Mail connects with Verizon email through every ISP I've tried except for Exede.  The problem is not with Apple Mail or my email settings.  It's something with either Exede or Verizon.  Verizon says it's not them.  Seems like it must be Exede. Please advise.

Michael,

I would like the opportunity to research some additional troubleshooting steps for you.  Please send me an email to exedelistens@viasat.com with your account and contact information.  If you have changed your email password, make sure to change the password within your email client as well.

 I just spent over an hour on the phone with a person who took me in a circle and fixed nothing, AND had me type in gmail blah blah as part of my internet address to SEE IF THIS WOULD WORK!!! I have made an appointment here in town with a computer company to see if they can help configure my e mail using Outlook!! I am so pisssssssed off I am seeing BLUE.  Your migration and directions DO NOT WORK, YES I got many test e mails but no way to SAVE in the outlook the new configurations, any of your computer people have any comments?

yes it was

The test e mails work and are sitting out on the server, but no way to save the new ports and updates I put in, does nto appear wildblue supports outlook or they have it configured wrong on their server

Carol - Someone said elsewhere that for iPad devices you have to totally delete your email account and start fresh to create a new account.  You can not modify an existing account.  I don't have any Apple devices, so this is all hearsay.

My I pad works perfectly and so does my phone. I am speaking of Outlook!!!

I don't have a wildblue or exede email to test it but I read over the steps and they look correct.

Why do I get a successful test page, but the next screen that reads "finish" does not come up for me to select "finish"  wondering if I have a corrupt outlook? I went to you tube, it shows exactly as your directions and exactly what I did and received the successful "test" but the next page does not come up for me to finish, ODDD

Assuming your are running windows 7..go to your start menu and go to control panel... In control panel in the too corner in the search box type in mail...that will bring up a mail setting box...there will be three buttons click the bottom one that says profile...in that window delete the profile from there and then go back to outlook and try to set it up again.

I did all the above, this time it actually started the set up wizard, but again it would not go past the page that reads "successful" acts like it is in a testing loop and keeps sending the test. Thank you for your help, I have been working on this for the last 8 hrs, I am done, will go to he local computer professional and see what they have to say tomorrow ~~ must be some radial button checked someplace that should not be! Gremlins I guess!!!!!!!!!!!!

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I TRIED IT ONE LAST TIME, AND WE HAVE E MAIL WITH OUTLOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess deleting the profile worked, maybe it just take a minute to go through. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Knight Rider, Champion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what version of out look are you using?  if you are using 07 or 10 they are not lost..  if you go to here C:\Users\"your user account"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook there should be a new file there called outlook and an old one(which should be a bigger file size) and it should say that the file type is an office data file.  rename the new one to outlook.new and then name the old one outlook and then close and reopen outlook and your frequent contacts should be back.

I do not see those files with that name, office data file, think this is beyond me, the files there are with yesterday's date,one files has srs extensions and XML

well I'm not sure then...that's where that file would be..not sure what happened to it but that would be your list of frequent contacts if the file was there
