Email Overload

Email using Outlook and Thunderbird continues to restart the download process; Up to three copies of the email messages are showing up. This is happening since the recent server/service change. Email client configuration has been verified several times. Outlook is configured to delete after 31 days.

Make sure you only have one active mail account downloading from Wildblue/Exede.  Make sure your server parameters are correct, because failure to complete the download handshake will cause the emails to repeat.  Make sure you let the download run to completion so that the download handshake takes place.  You might want to log onto the webmail page and delete all of the old emails there so they won't download.  FWIW, I had Outlook configured to delete after 31 days and was shocked to find five years of email on the migrated server.

Thank you for the response! Your last sentence is particularly helpful, since that is what happened here.
I had hoped that others would have seen the same thing since the recent change, and that there was a solution. Tried almost all of your suggestions and more, with no end to the flood. However, there is also a phone which does access the email so perhaps that is the key. Will try that today.
Again, my thanks.
