Yes, it is my Excede provided email address.
I just got off of the phone with them and the person I spoke with could not help and knew nothing of the problem. She said the techs I needed to speak with were gone for the night, to call back tomorrow.
She also said that they could be working on a server/system that she did not know about.
Talk about customer support.....

I am receiving the message pasted below myself but, I can get my email through both of my clients, Windows mail and, Thunderbird. That tells me that the most likely case is server upgrade or maintenance by Zimbra, our host client. I'm sure that the Exede staff here will see this tomorrow and, if has not corrected itself by then, will find out what is wrong.

HTTP ERROR 502

Problem accessing ZCS upstream server. Cannot connect to the ZCS upstream server. Connection is refused.
Possible reasons:

  • upstream server is unreachable
  • upstream server is currently being upgraded
  • upstream server is down
Please contact your ZCS administrator to fix the problem.

The Exede provided email comes from a third party. Customer support for Exede can do nothing with it except contact that third party to fix the issue.

I could tell you how to resolve the issue once and for all so it would never give you a problem again, but people don't seem to like the answer and would rather continue to put up with the problems.

Dear Marvie: How do you "link" your exede email to your gmail?
Thank you,
Susan

You can setup autoforwarding in your Exede email profile and then all emails can be forwarded on to your gmail. Works great!

Hi S, I can't remember exactly how I did it. It has been a few years ago when wildblue was using google for its mail. I did find this info for you and I hope it works out. Let me know how it went:

1) Log in to your Wildblue webmail.

2) Click on preferences (1)

3)  Click on Mail (2)

4) Add your email address you want your Wildblue mail forwarded to, in the box. (3)
(You can choose to leave a copy there or not)

Yes don't leave a copy . Then use your new email address to send and receive all mail. It doesn't take long for the old Exede email address to become obsolete. But with the forwarding in place, ypu wont miss any mail even if something shows up a year later at that address.

You fix the issue by quit using the email address you got with your Exede account. Setup a Gmail or Yahoo mail account for example. They are free. Nothing is tying you down to use your Exede mail address. Chances are you won't have Exede as your internet service forever. Then you will no longer have an Exede email account anyhow. So start now and establish an email address independent of your ISP. In the long run you will be much better off and much less frustrated.

I am sure people are going to say they are not going to do that and not take my advice. But I am also sure there are some veteran posters on here that will recommend the same advice.

It is simple to have your Exede or WildBlue email forward a copy of all messages to another host, avoiding the need to change your address but, of course, mail has to be working to make that settings change.

I would suggest that, if nothing else to serve as a backup for the mail you receive.

As for the current problem, I'm confident that it will be resolved or, at least explained better tomorrow.

Can anyone explain how to have wildblue forward a copy of messages, to serve as backup, to another host?  Can you tell me in pretty simple terms?  Any help will be appreciated!! Thank you,
Susan
