Email migration begins Aug. 3 for wildblue.net users

Here's another heads-up about this change to your email service. If you're using a wildblue.net account, we're going to start migrating those off Google and onto a new platform beginning Aug. 3. You can read all about it on our page here.

On Aug. 1, we will post information about the new mail client and smartphone IMAP/SMTP settings. Please be sure you don't mess with these until you've been migrated (you'll get an email letting you know when that happens), otherwise things just won't work.

If you have any stuff on Google Apps, such as Sites, YouTube, Documents, etc., you need to export and save that stuff ASAP or you'll lose it forever once the migration starts. Take a look at our email migration page for more information and updates.

If you're using exede.net for email, that migration will start in a few weeks. We'll give you another heads-up when that gets closer.

Maybe sending out an email saying "don't mess with these until you've been migrated" would have been a good idea.  I discovered the new settings and was able to configure Thunderbird as an email client for the first time in 3 months after literally scores of tries.  Even though the accounts show as configured they are apparently not functional because they are either not sending or receiving emails or both.  What do I do now?
