I would doubt there would be any specific details, more of a general direction of where Viasat may be headed with some forward looking statements and when (let me guess February) as a follow up to what was stated in November's call. Also probably some indicator of the success of the unlimited plans offerings as it relates to subscriber attrition rates over the last quarter. Investors wouldn't be inclined to worry about the specific details of a plan (unless also as a subscriber). Probably just enough info to whet investor appetities.

Specific details will probably follow the call, just as the specifics of unlimited plans followed the last call (as I recall - anybody remeber the date unlimited were introduced?). Detailed announcements will likely come in the form of marketing releases here and elsewhere.

Brad will likely be the first to let us know with an announcement here - just to get the monkey off his back ;)

Why are you so worried about the earning call? Just curious.

The Dow Jones tanked another 4% today. I'd be more worrier about that.

Although that 100mbs plan is mighty tempting....

No pricing (likely localized anyhow), and no data limits shown. Disappointing to only see the platinum plan have higher speeds. Sure gold is shown 30/50. We know what that means.

Yes, but note the dropping of "optimized" in favor of "typically" - opening up the possibility for atypical results ;)

Wait for pricing and the inevitable fine print...

I swear it’s time for spectacles. Looked at the plans up and down and never saw that. It will become the new catchphrase.

“My HD looks fuzzy at times”

“Yes, it will typically look HD, not always.”

Typical.

Or, were you thinking congestion could bump resolution down a grade or two?

That TV show was weird. All I could understand is a bunch or robot computer codes took over human bodies. Then the main cyborg dude got high and killed a bunch of people in a hotel. Weird.

So what did I miss? Are people signed up on Viasat 2 and complaining yet?

All depends on pricing, what's available in my area and, cost to move to VS2, if needed. Unlimited silver is doing good for me but, if it isn't too bad for better, I might change.

I don't think it would cost anything to move to viasat 2

Remember a contract is a hidden cost (if you don’t stay the duration).

Notice the push to focus on revenue growth rather than per subscriber growth. After viewing the slides, I’m of the opinion prices won’t move much from current, but will get better over time to control subscriber growth. I mean, I’d switch the first day to gold or platinum if no contract or $190 price tag. Particularly if the data limit is raised.

Yes, with susbscriber levels now down to 577,000 as of Dec 31 (see http://investors.viasat.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=1056943 under Satellite Services), they're will be an increased focus on new susbscribers just as there was several years back (I still remember the wailing and gnashing of teeth when Freedom and Liberty were'nt available to existing subscribers at first)  . At that time the new exciting plans were only offered to new subscribers - hopefully a more balanced approach/strategy will be forthcoming this go round.

Now we may not have seen all plan offerings, though that’s probably it and you nailed it way earlier, but are you impressed or a little disappointed?

Kind of hoping myself for that “gotta have it feeling”. Hasn’t hit me. Maybe price will move me.

Agreed. The notion of including the opto-throttle-mization on every single plan is off-putting to me. I'm leaning to sticking with Freedom, unless the "unlimited" plans on VS2 have a much higher cap before de-prioritization kicks in.

Streaming is the big attraction and, so far, it doesn't appear to be all that attractive.

It's looking to be very much like what I've been expecting.

Too many unanswered questions at this point - hurry up and wait! But at least a February rollout is on the record now ;)
