Ever since getting the new Wifi modem/router we have had an issue with modem/router freezing when sharing documents on a separate pc. Opening shared docs hangs up and freezes.
Is there a problem sharing pcs/drives on a home network? Or do I need to go back to my old router and just use this for internet?
Thank you

Tom, you will be much happier using your third party router.

Hi Tom - I know that there is new firmware available for the Viasat modem/routers. That may help... or there may be a fault with your modem. Do a search of the forum for "firmware" and the post with the information should pop up. You can also email viasatlistens@viasat.com and consult with them about your modem.  Make sure you send the email using the one you have on file with Viasat and include your name and account number in the email.

However, ultimately, like Steve says, you will probably be happier using your own router.

Unless you have the Toblerone modem (i.e. the NEW Viasat-2 modem), I would recommend using a third party router.
