I have the Gold Plan which shows up to 50 MBPS download speed.  Why can I not get over 2 mbps download speed? My upload speed is 1.69 which I think is also low.  I pay $160.00 a month for this which is a waste of money!!

Is it low no matter the time of day or primarily in the evenings?

How long have you had service and was it ever close to advertised speeds? Did you just run speed tests when you have issues or do you check them every once in a while?

Viasat shouldn't offer residential customers anything more than "up to" 12 mbps.  Set the bar low and its easier to meet a customer's expectations.

Sounds to me it is out of alignmrnt or there is something wrong with the installation.

I would email a mod on here at viasatlistens@viasat.com and have them take a look at your account (include your account number).

If the Viasat app says it's out of alignment then you most likely have a problem.

That is a Viasat-2 install too. Rumor is they are notoriously hard to properly tune. Perhaps the installer is missing sonething.

Don't give up! Dont accept substandard performance for all the money you paying!

Since you aren't under contract anymore as said above don't accept the substandard performance. The 3rd party techs Viasat sends out run the gamut from low skilled and unequipped to highly skilled and well equipped. You have leverage in this situation, use it. Tell them to bring your service back to where it was when you were satisfied or you will look elsewhere for an ISP.

Probably are under contract when they switched to Viasat-2. That took a new two year commitment.
