Unhappy with Liberty Pass

Dont get it, if you get to using liberty pass and are a heavy user you go to the bottom of the pile where your speeds will not even do emails, where it says 1 gb in liberty is BS. the ones with the high speed still in tact or light liberty users get priority, heavy users become second class customers. A rotten way to treat paying customers, they will happily up your data for you instead of giving what they promose.

I'm not sure what you don't get.  The "light" users are paying exactly the same as you.  If you're a heavy user, you're using a greater portion of the limited bandwidth the satellite provides, squeezing out lighter users who pay the same as you.  Just because "light" users aren't downloading tons of data does not mean that they should experience slow speeds just so you can continue to have fast speeds while gorging on the data.  That's like someone going to a buffet and then eating most of the food and continually blocking other people from even getting to the food.  How would that be fair?  The Liberty Pass is essentially letting others (who paid the same as you) get some of the food before you go for seconds and thirds and fourths.

It would be awesome if satellite internet had unlimited bandwidth, but that's just not the reality.  A fixed amount of bandwidth has to be shared across all customers, and the only fair and reasonable system is to begin to throttle the heaviest users, so a few "heavy" users don't destroy the performance for hundreds or thousands of other users.  This is exactly the same strategy that AT&T, Verizon, and most other telecom providers follow.  It wasn't that long ago that you'd automatically get socked with huge overage fees if you went a byte over your monthly quota, so I'm thankful the Liberty Pass exists to provide some capability once primary data is out, without ending up with unpredictable bills.
