direct tv is a scam artist for excede who rips you off on data because there packages are so small i bet the ceo and higher ups own exceed knowing that all your data will be used in  hours not months so you have to buy more data so they can charge you more money we used 10 gigs of data in 4 hours then got data restriction and they wont let you out of contract if you cancel they get fifteen dollars a month for the rest of your contract what a rip off so they get free money cause there service is worthless I think we should be able to charge them fifteen dollars a month for customer dissatisfaction getting a lawyer to see how to stop these thieves from ripping off anybody else

Sounds like somebody didn't do their homework before signing the contract. It is bad when sales people do not give full disclosures but the customer has to take some responsibility for knowing what they are buying into.

I am genuinely sorry your girlfriend is blind, but it would be better for her to bring you or someone else she trusts along to read the fine print before she signs any agreements.  I would never sign a contract without first reading the details.  I wouldn't  trust my own understanding  and retention of all the details someone was rattling off to me verbally. Nor would I trust any company rep to necessarily get all the details right.

I always get a kick out of posts like this.  These *insert monster's name here* shouldn't be allowed to take advantage of *insert disability here*!!  They have *issue* so they should not be held accountable for any contracts they chose to sign.

Yet, if that same *monster* said, I'm sorry ma'am, you are *disability* can you please get someone else to review this contract and sign, we do not believe you are capable of doing so yourself, oh the sh*t would hit the fan, wouldn't it?  Jessie Jackson on CNN raving up and down about civil liberties.

Your girlfriend is over 18 right?  Then she is responsible for her own choices, and only she is responsible to getting assistance, when needed, with her differing abilities.

When we signed up for service they e-mailed the contract to me. Lot of good that did since we did not have internet to read it!!

There are lots of resources and people on this and the other forum to help you learn how to manage your data. All you have to do is ask for help.In most cases you will find the other forum easier to navigate and more helpful.

Directv has nothing to do with exede, The first thing any  blind person does is have quick access to someone to help with these matters. I'm really not falling for that.

They are connected. We got exede through direct tv, they called it a bundled plan, said we could watch 10,000 movies on demand, then when the guy installed the system he used a modem with one output. He said if we want a router we have to buy and install it ourselves. Rather misleading advertising since we were not informed of this. They made it sound like we would have movies on demand the day our system was installed. What is so hard about saying "you buy the equipment and set it up and you will have movies on demand?"

You can select from 10,000 movies on demand. You will not be able to watch more than 3 or 4 a month because of data restrictions. If you want to connect more than one device to the modem, you will have to have a wireless router, not supplied by Directv or Exede.

Hello Joe, our forum champion Steve is correct; you can select from 10,000 movies on demand. You will not be able to watch more than 3 or 4 a month because of data restrictions. Pls excuse my asking this, but are you for real, or is this perhaps a bit of a trolling joke?

every post of yours says that....... and to that statement, I offer this......

Did she go blind today? Last week? Last year? Is she new to being blind, kr a human being? your making her sound like a fool. She should have adapted to her disability by now...... there has to be a physical action to sign up flr exede..... a signature...... e signatures where she needs personal information. Personaly i cry shenannigans. But hey, a forum mod will help you out.

Glad I don't have these problems anymore. I was way past my contract and since I have a good LTE signal here at the house I got the 2 line unlimited plan for $100 a month, used over 200 gigs last month. You just have to know how to manipulate your data, even works with a Windows phone

Your last name is appropriate--good fortune when you get access to a landbased broadband and can have unlimited data usage.  who is the provider of your new plan?
I have no such options, myself, so am doing ok with Exede, even with the cheapest, 10gb a month plan.  Since the only other kind of internet technology I have had was dialup, Exede seems great to me by comparison.
