Destiny 2 on Exede

I have been playing Destiny 2 on Exede and LOVING it! very addictive game and plays very smoothly over Exede (for me at least). There are some hurdles to overcome, but these are actually not Exede's fault but Bungie's Policy on high ping that is the issue. I'll explain..
Back in Destiny 1 people were falsifying a high ping to cheat in PvP. so, Bungie's answer to that ongoing issue was a blanket wide "if your ping is over a certain number you aren't allowed in multiplayer features". How does this affect a player? Simple, if you are playing the PvE part of the game you are put on a solo server..that's right you are the ONLY hero on the planets! :D Fits in with the story great! But not so much when it comes to taking down those big Public Events and some Rare Spawns that make Destiny 2 special. Also, if you sign up for a strike (a dungeon/instance) instead of the 3/3 players the instance is designed for (you guessed it!) you are 1/3 and have to take it all on yourself...not easy (depending on the Strike).
But there IS good news! If you join a friend's of Clan (Guild) members Fire-team you are placed on their POPULATED server! So, magically you are surrounded by Destiny 2 players all getting in your way and making emotes and noise all over the place! You can even do Strikes and PvP matches then ( I suck at Shooter PvP but we had a blast; even won two out of like 5 matches- don't laugh...lol).  Once you leave your friend of Clan members fire-team you go back to your solo server to quest and do the story line (which is a blast and solo-able).
IF your friend or Clan member join YOUR fire-team, however, they come to your solo server and you two are the ONLY heroes on the planet. THIS is a good thing if you're hunting rares for the drops you can get off them. With only  your team as players on a world all the rares are usually not already splattered across the floor and your team can make the rounds and have fun taking them on (some of the rares are solo-able and you can do them even without a group.
I am already in only about a week of playing at around 269 Light rating. So, Destiny 2 is definitely doable and fun on Exede (with the above mentioned issue-again not Exede's fault Bungie decided  to handle the cheaters the way they did, and I can't blame Bungie for dealing with the cheating issue as they saw fit). i play on PS4 but I read on Bungie Forums the Latency Policy applies to PC as well.
The solo server thing isn't a major issue, as you can always join a clan and let them know your issue and run events and such with a clan member. Or if you're playing with friends join them. On PS4, if you can't find a clan let me know here with a message and I'll see about getting you in the one I am in (it's a small one) that understands the issue and doesn't mind helping on events you can't handle solo. So, if you have been heart broken about not thinking you can't play Destiny 2  on Exede now you know what to expect and can decide if you want to purchase the game. Hope this helps any gamers out there. :D

I think if you like first person shooter co-op games  (or want to just go solo questing) you would enjoy it. Or if you were a fan of Destiny 1. Destiny 2 has made a lot of neat changes to make the game more involving and try to keep level capped players doing something. :D I was just happy it works on Exede, as I have a good friend that wanted me to play with him and his clan.

Hey deathgod, I just started playing Destiny 2 on ps4 as well through exceded. We should join up and do some events, maybe jump on a fireteam one of us is hosting and be the only 2 running around getting gear and stuff. Still just doing solo player events and want to try out some of the PvE stuff.

I play on the PC and wondered I why I never saw anyone even in the social areas. i stopped polaying it because it got boring and I hate that Bungie punishes you for the ISP you use . I wish I would have known all this before I paid the 60 bucks for the game

Bungie restricts anyone with a ping over a certain number from multiplayer. To bypass this join a fire team with someone not restricted; it will put you on the multiplayer server. :)

Some events I can do solo, but it’s not hard to join a fire team and get pulled to populated server. Are you on PC or PS4? Have you tried running events with your clan or a friend?

Always fun to read Deathgod. I may not be the most up to date on gaming but this is always fun to read and I personally enjoy reading these game reviews even if I don't play much games (although I do want to play the heck out of Cuphead...that looks awesome and rage-quit inducing)
