Dear Viasat and every Viasat customer.

Dear Viasat and everyone who has this service. I may only get one shot at saying this. But I truly do hope it does get through to some people as customers and even the people at Viasat and the very top of Viasat. So here goes nothing.

I truly did love you to with all my heart Viasat. When I first signed up with you guy's. I was so happy to see a Internet Service Provider that was willing to provide me some internet at my home. It was like a dream come true for me. To have Internet in my owm name for once. I never thought that I would be able to do it. So as time progressed on. I truly didn't know much about how satellite internet worked. I basically did research after I got it. So after finding how satellite internet worked. I tried to help people as much as I can and so on. Then after all that hard work and so on. I came onto this very forum to find out that I was a champion on here. I was truly happy and very excited and but at the time I didn't know what a champion was. So I looked it up and so on. I was actually shocked myself. I literally just couldn't be so happy and overwhelmed with all these emotions I had at the time.

So I did my best as a champion on here to help one another with their issues on here. I also took my very own time to even write some praise of my very own. So basically I was Viasat's Cheerleader to show how happy I was with Viasat and how it works. (I guess you can say that if I helped of how it works. I don't know if I did. But it's Ok.) I learned a lot and observed of how to help one another. Even though my grammar wasn't very good at the time. I'm trying to fix my grammer as much as I can. So basically I still have to work on that a little bit myself. So don't worry about that. Because I have to work on that myself. It's called, "With enough effort into it and it'll all be paid off in the end."

So anyways I was able to do stuff with Viasat that I couldn't do before. Like download my Anime's, Watch YouTube Videos, Do Social Media from time to time. Ya know the whole shabootle. I was very happy, But I didn't see no one else being happy with their Internet Services. So I did as much praises as I could to keep everyone happy and positive and look at it from a different point of view. I tried my hardest to try and get everyone to open up their big ol' eyes. (The big ol' eyes was a tic I used to say when I was little. I do have Tourettes Syndrome. As it was confirmed by a Neruologist. I thought I was diagnosed with something else. But once I have accepted Tourettes Syndrome as a part of me. It became a whole lot easier. Because Tourettes Syndrome made me who I am today. If their was a cure for Tourettes Syndrome. I wouldn't take it personally. As I will not be the same Deku as everyone else who knows me as of today.)

But as I stated before, My praise's did work out in the end to a degree in some way that I thought was good at the time being. But in all seriousness, I honestly wished I never praise Viasat so much in my life. I was way to Naive. Now that I think back on it. It was all nothing but a complete joke to me now. Because I was able to somewhat attract some customers here because of all the praising I did for Viasat. That is why I said before I wished I never Praised Viasat in the first place. All the my precious time and effort including my typing. All went down the drainage. That is how I honestly feel right about now.

All I have to say to Viasat the company themselves is this. Why did you guy's had good intentions of doing good in the firet place. But yet in the end, You guy's don't care about residential anymore? Is all that money you guy's have in your pockets enough for your satisfaction? Is the greediness of money getting to your guy's head? If so, Why even bother of wanting to do good intentions in the first place and then once money starts flowing in. It's lile you guy's forgotten about what you guy's wanted to do in the first place. My ma always told me that once a person starts makes mega bucks. They will forget their friends that they had beforehand and start making new friends and hanging out with them. Because the friend that stood by them was no longer in their life. But karma is horrible to everyone. Karma is in fact real. I've witnessed it first hand. Not only my ma and I. But everyone that is involved with me or communication/customer with me in real life or online thing's work out for those people who does good. But Karma has always had a minimal impact on my ma and I. But the people who did wrong to my ma and I. Karma did really bad thing's to them that I don't want to go into details. Karma did really good things to my ma and I so now we are good as of right now. If people say Karma isn't real. Then I do have a really good 1 or 2 stories to tell you guy's. If you guy's don't believe in Good Karma and Bad Karma.

Anyhoo! I'm going too go play my Nintendo Switch. So I hope you guy's have a good morning/afternoon/evening/night.

As always. ~KEEP IT PLUS ULTRA STYLE~

Well spoken, Deku.  I, too, feel like retracting my positive reviews from the past 10 years.  I don't care if it their plan "update" is legal, it doesn't offset how awful we feel after saying what a good service Viasat is (or was).  They went from being a good service to being a despicable internet company.  The CEOs really hit the opposite end of the spectrum, starting out as decent, and now they've really put the thumb screws to older customers, turning those plans into rubbish.

Well said Deku.   I'm a newbie as I've only been here ~14 mos. I'm on the Silver 25-150 Unlimited plan ans fortunately I haven't been affected as severely as most on this plan.  I left Verizon for their ever changing plans and their wordsmithing of "Unlimited".  At least the Viasat Unlimited throttling doesn't happen until 150 Gb and I have yet to exceed 50 Gb so I'm golden.    Nahhh.  Wrong.

From 'The Famous Letter' 25 Mbps is the median we should expect in any 24 hr period.  But what recourse do we have if service does not meet that criteria?  None that I can tell.  I do see speeds over 25 Mbps which I never saw prior to the policy change but I've traded that for severe speed reduction during primetime.  Latest speed test below.

Harvey, have you looked into the Verizon Prepaid unlimited? It is totally separate and different than the regular Verizon cellphone accounts. It truly is unlimited unless there is congestion. Where we are, it is fantastic. It probably does vary depending on location, but if you aren't in a super congested area, it may be a good way to go.

@ Deku,

Learning grammar isn't hard at all, here's a sample...

Adjectives in English absolutely have to be in this order: opinion-size-shape-color-origin-material-purpose Noun.   So you can have a lovely little old rectangular green French silver whittling knife.  But if you mess with that word order in the slightest you'll sound like a maniac.  It's an odd thing that every English speaker uses that list, but almost none of us could write it out.  And as size comes before color, green great dragons can't exist.

HI Deku (and of course the others on here)

Believe me when I say I take absolutely no joy in seeing you or others being miserable over this change. I fully understand the frustration over this.

With that said, we ARE seeing some that switch to another unlimited plan or Liberty plan are seeing a night and day difference. I understand the objection of doing that as some indicated it may cost more to do so and there's not as much priority data  IF it's something you can do financially and can work with by saving some of those larger downloads for after peak hours a switch should be a night and day difference.

Again you are free to do what works for you. If you want to stay put and ride it out to see if things level out please do that. I also understand why some may be seeking alternative service as the policy was changed.

I've disappeared for awhile from this forum because it's always the same old problem, people are being betrayed daily by ViaSat and nothing is changing in all the years I've been a customer.  I do like the post made by Deku because she has such a vivid personality here.

Last night I fully expected to see something posted by her that would be typical of her, something bright, cheery, exciting (from her perspective anyway), and it would make me smile to see such an uplifting and maybe funny story of dedication to ViaSat.  I was quite shocked to read what I found from the one person that seemed like nothing could shake her.  Deku was shattered and disillusioned by ViaSat, ViaSat had actually betrayed her.

ViaSat, you should take heed....  Deku is your "canary in the coal mine."  She represents the attitude of probably 70% of your customers whether they ever come here to voice their opinion of ViaSat or not.  She sang a great song for you for quite awhile and put her faith in you that things will improve as you gained the capabilities to do so. Now she's not singing anymore.  Figure it out.  Whatever additional money ViaSat expects to make from this fiasco, greater losses in multiples of greater magnitude await you.  You have silenced your songbird that provided music to everyone's ears, especially your own, by being greedy.

Message to Mark Dankburg:  The love of money is the root of all evil and evil will not endure forever.

Even Stephen is questioning his support.

I will write a letter to the CEO at some point here. Will it make a difference? Nah. But somebody will read it, and somebody will most likely have to take time to defend their actions on what has happened with the plan changes.

What a shame.

Yes it is a shame.  Viasat is going backwards, not forward.  Historically, ViaSat improved their service with the acquisition of greater capacity.  Today, someone at ViaSat is rubbing their hands, drooling over the thoughts of how much more money they can make by putting yet a tighter squeeze on residential customers.  The target of this scheme of late are customers ViaSat feels aren't being bled nearly enough. They want to further subdivide the homestead into smaller and smaller parcels for higher profits per customer.

It is not helpful when the Social Media Team comes here saying they feel our pain.  We are being stuck with a red-hot poker and they say "Oh did that hurt?"  "We're sorry that hurt" just as we get poked again... and again... and again.

When Brad kisses his wife on the way out the door on his way to work in the morning, is he proud of what he'll be doing when he gets there? Will his job benefit mankind in any way?  If he has children- can he hold his child and be proud of who he is in this world, that he is making the world a better place for his child... and expect his child would be proud of how his company and himself treats people?  This sample goes for everyone at the Social Media Team, not really just Brad, he's the sample here, actually it goes for everybody at ViaSat, perhaps Mark Dankburg the most.  Brad is just the random subject of a representation of ViaSat, I'm not trying to make this a personal knock on him individually, I just needed to put a human  name on ViaSat.

I have the Freedom Plan, 150GB of Priority data per month.  If ViaSat were to continue on the path toward higher ground, they would have plans that rivaled the Freedom Plan by now and the people with this plan would have changed to a newer, better-yet plan.  This is not happening, instead we are seeing decay at ViaSat.

@Mark Dankburg:  Would the child you once were be proud of man you are now?

I don't think I could ever give up internet. Besides, me and my neighbor had totally different upbringings. I grew up in a suburb with a dad who was and still is a total tech geek. He always had to have the best and newest electronic gadgets. My neighbor grew up dirt poor in the Appalachians and didn't have indoor plumbing or electricity until he was 16. He's learned to live with much less.

I don’t think it stunk. It was very well put together.

What affected me was seeing what Hawkeye went through. That is very good writing and an example of the PTSD our soldiers deal with.

If you guy's are going to be talking about this M*A*S*H series and whatever you talk about. At least make a different Forum or Topic about this stuff. Because I noticed a pattern. Whenever there is a serious Topics. You 2 are always talking about something else instead of the Title of the Topic. You 2 know very well and know better than to stray away from the Topic itself or changing the Main Topic that was already started. Just have ya know that is VERY DISRESPECTFUL to everyone on this forum's on here.

Yeah I'll admit it myself. I too made some mistakes. So I'm learning from them myself while being on this forum. Yeah I'll admit this also, The reason Old Lab's isn't on here anymore. Is because I drove her away with one of my post I made and created. Do you have any idea of how bad I feel about that? It's been on my mind a lot lately and even from time to time. But yet, I have a gut feeling vibe that Old Lab's still comes on here in the background lurking without an account or she is just using another account on here and she is using some type of other grammar so no one notices that it is her here.

Anyways back to what I was saying before we got off of what I was trying to say. All I'm trying to say is that. Can you 2 please not crash the Main Topic when things are getting serious? At least to on Facebook and do that or email each other or create another Off Topic or something like that. Because I don't really like it when people do that to me. I only let it go for so long. Until it reaches it's Limit. Once it goes over that Limit. I say stuff and you won't like what I have to say. Also, it seems some of you guy's are watching the forum's 24/7. I'm just saying that is how I feel about some people on here. Just thought I'd point that out also ahead of time. Good day guy's!

Off-Topic - "Exposure to traumatic experiences has always been a part of the human condition. Attacks by saber tooth tigers or twenty-first century terrorists have likely led to similar psychological responses in survivors of such violence. Literary accounts offer the first descriptions of what we now call posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). For example, authors including Homer (The Iliad), William Shakespeare (Henry IV), and Charles Dickens (A Tale of Two Cities) wrote about traumatic experiences and the symptoms that followed such events. Brad, I saw a night-and-day difference when I upgraded from Evolution 5 to Unlimited Silver 150 a year ago, and was a very happy camper until Viasat decided to cripple my plan in an attempt to bully me into 60Gb plan for the same money. Now I'm back to Evolution 5 performance (without the free zone) for twice the money, and there's not a damn thing I can do about it.

Do you honestly think I would trust Viasat for a new plan? Not on your life, my friend.

Seconded. I also have noticed a tendency among some of the longtime members to start jibber-jabbering among themselves in the middle of someone's thread, or start smarting off with "is it the weekend already?" type of comments.

When I voice a grievance here, I'm hurting, guys, or I'm hopping mad, (or, like the last month, both), and I think most of the OP's here would appreciate having a chance to vent their pain and discuss their issues without a lot of pointless crosstalk.

Very good answer.  If all went according to ViaSat's plan, once everyone was where ViaSat wants them, speeds would tank again and we'd be back to the same old "congestion" blame game all over again.

Let's not forget ViaSat's claims before ViaSat-2 was operational, when they were saying things like "data caps will be a thing of the past."  There are places that aren't getting a ViaSat-2 signal as a result of the antenna problem, but where it does cover, there is no excuse for such poor plans and speeds, especially when ViaSat is signing up more and more sales partners and extending their service into Mexico, and bragging about all the airlines they have connected and about to be connected.  ViaSat is telling investors how flush with bandwidth they are, but what about residential?  It is interesting that most of the questions investors asked ViaSat at the conclusion of their Q3 earnings call were about how the residential sector is doing and ViaSat deflected on every one of those questions.

Some may think I'm back, but not really.  It was Deku's post that was "the straw that broke the camels back."   I may disappear again now, it all depends on what ViaSat has to say.

I really do feel for all of you that are having to deal with this.  Being that I don't have ViaSat, I've never really talked it up, nor down, other than letting people know of the primary drawbacks to satellite internet in general.  But I can say that I find what's happening to be egregious enough to be less likely to recommend it to anyone who's having issues with HughesNet, which I've done a few times in the past, just as I have the other way.

I know that contracts are what they are, with nearly all of them being written with the caveat that things can change, and they are allowing those affected out of their contracts without penalty if they wish to do so, but none of that negates the fact that what's happening must feel like a rude slap in the face to so many of you.  :(

The way Brad said this 1 little paragraph.

Brad said, "Again you are free to do what works for you. If you want to stay put and ride it out to see if things level out please do that. I also understand why some may be seeking alternative service as the policy was changed."

It makes me really think that even the Moderators say that they don't like to see us suffering. But in the end of the day. I really honestly think they should give Satellite Internet a try. So they know what it's like. Maybe I could be wrong with some of the Moderators. Maybe they do have Satellite Internet or they have some bettt Internet Providers and so on.

But in all seriousness and honesty I have been thinking about this for quite some time. These past couple of weeks. I already made my choicelong time ago. But I will say this right here and right now. I will be staying with Viasat until the very end. Even if I do have some other options. I might go to that in the near future. But I will stay with Viasat until this speed policy is dealt with. But if there was some other internet available in my area. I'll switch in a heartbeat. But I will probably be kind of sad if I do go that route. Because I will miss everyone here. Having to struggle with the speed's during the prime hour's, Nation holiday's, and even during the summer break of the kiddies. I will honestly miss that IF there was another internet provider in my area. Because I think it's kind of fun to figure out what time of day the speeds are going to kick up or kick down. Now some people may call me crazy for what I just said. It doesn't matter to me what you think about it.

The thing that is most important right now is for what Brad said. Yeah I'm upset about how he said that. Yeah I'm saddened that Brad has to see us suffering. But does everyone ever think about how the moderators feel like when they can't do anything on their end and all they can do is sit on the sidelines and watch us suffer with internet speeds and so on? Do you guy's have ANY IDEA of how helpless they feel about this and wishing they had the power in their hands to make things better for us?

For what it's worth we are sending feedback up to the appropriate channels based on the policy change.

Also I don't believe you for a moment Steve, next I bet you'll say Clark Kent is Superman, or Hulk Hogan was Mr. America (when he said and I quote: "I'm not Hulk Hogan brother!"). I do think they would get along really well if they ever met each other.

I had the Impossible Burger at Hard Rock Cafe last night. It’s the first vegetarian burger I’ve ever had that I’ve actually enjoyed.

Take my advice and don’t ever try the Beyond Burger. That thing is nasty.

The Impossible Burger is where it’s at (I’ve got two turn tables and a microphone). Tastes like a real burger and it’s 100% plant based.

Many of us are 100% content with Viasat. It seems on here it is the same people obsessing over a company change. The same dozen or so people. Over and over. The majority of Viasat customers are content. Someone mentioned 70% are dissatisfied. Really??? Why don’t all of the dissatisfied customers just discontinue your service??? They will let you out of your contract. Go use HughesNet or Verizon. It’s been weeks now of nonstop whining on this board. What do you all do when your favorite tv show or breakfast cereal is discontinued? You have many options people. Please do something, anything other then carrying on and creating conspiracy theories about a company that completely acted within their legal rights. We are LUCKY to have satellite internet at all!!! Do you really think your $50 - $150 a month remotely covers the cost of a satellite? Or even the daily operations? VS2 cost 629 million!!! Divide that by $100 a month. I’ll wait. Viasat has to operate at a profit to continue to offer services and to expand services to satisfy everyone. Move on people. Move on.

I don't know about others, but if Lucky Charms are discontinued you'll find me organizing a class action suit over in the General Mills community.

It's human nature Nathan - enjoy the insanity.

Read the internet reviews of Viasat.

Such glowing reviews.

I think I will keep posting to annoy Nathan :).

I mean, heaven forbid consumers voicing their displeasure about unilateral corporate changes to products they have. Please sir, may I have another!

Curious, if "someone" from the powers that be were to read this (or other) forum/area, what would be more likely to possibly get someone to possibly make changes to satisfy/partially satisfy their customers?  A forum full of true statements of dissatisfaction, or, a forum with few complaints, and most people holding hands, dancing in circles, singing "kumbaya" (sp).

Were you around the old forum around '12?  Were you there when the moderators were saying Exede plans would be "great", everyone would be satisfied?  Then, they announced the plans with about 25% less data than the corresponding old plans from ~6-7 years before, do you think people didn't complain for a long time?  Then, months later, when they bumped the base plan up that 25% to almost match the old plan, left the other plans alone, but added the free zone to all plans, do you think the forum (and other) complaints played a small part of that decision?

I think people say what they say, and moderators allow what they allow.  As I said before, if someone doesn't like what someone else says, don't read it, nobody forces you to.  That's what I've always done.

People pay their money, it's their right to either be pleased or not pleased with what they get for it, and say whatever they say.  It's not someone else's job to tell people how they should feel about it, or what they should do for that matter.  YOU don't know what's best for other people, you don't know their options or their situation.  But, people should know what all their options are, before signing up, and after.  And, if someone finds something different, satellite users can (and are allowed) to discuss other options (seems better than saying "you got something else? Good, get out of here then.").

NRTC did not change data bucket size when Exede-5-10 came...ViaSat then, amended their lower data bucket plan(s).

I'm not aware why ViaSat changed their data plans, but NRTC stuck to their guns.

My NRTC started out at 10 GB, Viasat started at 7.5 GB combined upload/download  - by the time NRTC was offering plans the bump to 10GB had already occurred for me as well as the LNFZ gift. As a WIldblue subscriber, I had to wait until my NRTC member org was offering service    - there were not any Wildblue affiliated retailers in the area when I signed up for Wildblue back in the day.

And yes I remember all the yelling and screaming on the old forum in early 2012  about the 7.5 combined cap that aabbcc mentions. At that time it did appear that Viasat not only listened but took action - a different era apparently.

I also remember placing a couple folks over there on my ignore list - I miss the old forum ;)

I specifically remember calling Viasat for service when plans started showing up in this area on their site hoping to switch to Exede - when I told them I was an NRTC subscriber to Wildblue, they requested that I contact my NRTC member org - to their credit Viasat wasn't interested in cannibalizing NRTC wholesale subscribers at the time or had a conscience.

Just as well it wound up saving me about $5 per month and now it's a $10 per month savings for the same plan offered through Viasat directly. Glad I called them (NRTC) and didn't act impulsively and just call Viasat back and not mention NRTC at all as I contemplated.

I actually was ready to go with Hughesnet when I saw the initial Exede plans. They were laughable. But then, the NRTC came out with the 10GB plan and a five hour free zone, while Hughesnet got rid of the free zone. Shortly thereafter, Viasat followed suit.

Been pleased with Viasat (Exede) for the most part. But my data usage needs have changed (who's haven't) and now we are operating on technology around 7 years old. If Viasat-2 would have been successful as designed, maybe something would be different. As it is now, it is time to explore any and all options.

Dear Mr. Hart,

I’ve had 10 years of relatively good service with viasat, my review is “featured” on their website as to how much I liked the service. Since Jan 2019, after the “plan change”my service has wasted away to 1.5 mbps. My plan description reads “do whatever you want, whenever you want” (their wording). I don’t care what the contract says, they have mislead and misrepresented their service. I will continue to post my acute disappointment and feelings of being deceived and manipulated because I WAS manipulated and deceived. You don’t have to read these comments, there is a choice for you to leave just as there is a choice for us to leave. Leave the forum if it’s too negative for you. I plan to stay with viasat until I can relocate and then leave them forever. At 73 it takes time and you’ll just have to keep reading our complaints as long as you choose to open the threads concerning viasat’s abuse of older clients. Some day you may be joining the complaints as your plan “changes”.

Nathan similarly gets to complain about complaining - it goes both ways and not so long ago he was complaining as others dismissed his complaints - there are some folks here from the old forum who swore up and down they'd never come over here because it's just a bunch of complaining... turns out they were right.

Nothing wrong with complaining and I would encourage those impacted to do so, but I'd advise anyone with a dispute to follow the dispute resolution process in their customer agreement by initiating it with with a written letter to:

Viasat, Inc.
P.O. Box 4427
Englewood, CO  80155
Attention:
Viasat Legal Department

as outlined in the customer agreement's terms and conditions at:

https://www.exede.com/documents/master/customer-agreement.pdf

It's going to take a lot more than public outrage from the dozen(s) complaining here. Although I still have a few pitch forks and torches available in the lobby who needs them.

No email that I can find -  a formal written process as outlined plus email's easy to ignore - hey, I never got it!

More people should use it if really serious. This is a social media forum operated by marketing - it's purpose is damage control and PR. Typically the primary function for a Social Media Team. It's other purpose is customer-to-customer self help, not that there's much of that going around these days.

Yes they're listening and you'll continue to receive the official response here but... a flood of formal complaints initiated with the Legal Department may yield some action and you in particular may call me old or you can call me labs, Susan. Just don't call me Shirley.

Send it return receipt, signature requested ;)

Truthfully, I'd rather be answering questions like how do I delete a shortcut. They're much less confrontational.

I mean, I most certainly don't want it to happen, but we all saw the movie Gravity I bet. If one of these internet satellites took a hit, we would all be in a world of hurt and our plans would change. That is understandable.

Don’t know if letters will solve the problem. Lots of social media publicity on the negative side is more effective these days. It will take a judge saying actions by ViaSat are “beyond the pale” to enact real change. When Liberty users get smacked for airlines, someone just might push hard enough. The Supreme Court is the only place that changes these kind of “ISP can do whatever they want contracts” and actions.

@ Stephen Rice....try the Impossible Burger. It’s good.

Heart Attack Grill - The Heart Attack Grill® is a hospital themed restaurant in downtown Las Vegas. It has become internationally famous for embracing and promoting an unhealthy diet of incredibly large hamburgers. Customers are referred to as "patients," orders as "prescriptions," and the waitresses as "nurses." All those who weigh over 350 pounds are invited to unlimited free food provided they weigh themselves on an electronic cattle scale affront a cheering restaurant crowd.

I know you guy's are trying to cheer me up and so on. I truly do appreciate it. But, one thing I'd like to point out quickly. This goes for everyone. That is why I did @everyone.

*Deku's right face is twitching trying not to get angery or yell in all CAPS*

I'm saying this in a calm, polite, and civilized way. Can you guy's please not go off topic of the main reasons I posted this? Because I'm sick and tired of everyone NOT STICKING to the MAIN topic itself. But please I ask ya guy's what 1 time and this is the 2nd time I have to ask you guy's not to do this.

*Deku grit's his teeth and trying to remain calm and neutral while smiling with his face twitching*

So please can you guy's create another topic for off topic conversation? Thank you!

P.S. My right side of my face was twitching and I was griting my teeth. I too was in fact smiling and trying to keep a cool head. That is true as I'm typing this. So good day!

Unfortunately, it's Get Satisfaction themselves.  They're the company that hosts this support community.  It was one of the reasons (among many) that HughesNet went with their own support community and closed the old on on Get Satisfaction. I originally thought the issue was caused by GetSat not getting along well with satellite internet's high latency, but it happens with people that use low latency, ground based services, as well.  A GetSat glitch that needs to be fixed.  And yes, it's an extremely annoying one.

Why even bother commenting on this post in the first place then? If you're going to complain about reading too much and to summarize it in 3 sentences. Then go somewhere else and do that. But not on here.

Plus, I guess people these days always expect everything on a Silver Platter with everything handed to them with a Fancy Waitress at their Services.

give it time Nathan will be very upset with Viasat everyone ends up that way cause they ARE going to screw him over once he gets settled into things right now Viasat 2 is going to run great to get sales once they load up everything will go down the drain there again like Viasat 1 .... I have seen this ever since back in 2005 during wildblue times all of a sudden when new plans come up all old plans go down the crapper

Im also one of the ones who got hit by the new policy and it was bad i mean bad my area is so badly congested that they no longer offer service period in my area and during off peak hours even when your data is not used up your lucky to get and im being dead frigin serious more than 1-2mbps. and since i honestly have no other alternative  and really on this for work and school for me and my family i was forced to go to viasat 2 fro more money than what i pay now to keep close to the same data and speed. I even had to go as far as to drop other bills so i could afford the new plan this is wrong very wrong and i do not see how they are and will get away with this legally. They said they would not do this to us but i said it then and i was right that when net neutrality was dropped they would show they're true colors and they did with this policy change to force people to choose another plan by making this plan crap.

And the most disconcerting result from this is they will gut any plan at any time to suit their end game. You’ve been forced to the “new plan” and who knows when they will do another “plan policy update” on that plan, forcing more and more money out of us for less and less data. No one can feel comfortable and secure with their selective plan degradation. What level of service we sign up for is not what we end up with. It’s much worse than what had been offered. Thanks viasat for pushing this much abuse on customers simply because you don’t want to honor the original plan. You have stepped on a lot of people and it’s not going unnoticed.

biggest issue is if we keep allowing people like them and other companies to get away with this its going to just keep happening. We the people are really to blame for these practices happening because we do not stand against them. Thats whats wrong with everything today we no longer fight back we just stand there and either take it or just bark and never once even bite. Biggest issue is no one has the bravery to be a martyr anymore. And if you look historically there have been many lawsuits against large companies like these for this kinda practice and all cases have one in favor of the consumers. But problem is the just keep happening or in the case of ATT they just change they're name or split into other companies being ran by the same large company. Once upon a time ATT was sued by a 80 year old couple for something similar and won the lawsuit. The lawsuit was so bad the company split itself into a bunch of smaller companies then once the original agreement was up they purchased themselves back up to make it look like a large business merger under one company..... ATT Btw that all happened back in the 70-80's if i remember the time it occured correctly.

This has nothing to do with net neutrality. People hear a buzz word and think if something happens to their internet it is because something did or did not happen with government regulation.
