This is just wrong. I am not much on the Internet and I am getting a notice from Exede about my Data Usage.

I don't play games on my computer and do rarely listen to youtube.

The problem is, that Exede takes forever to start about and it is "redirecting" and "redirecting" to get into e-mail. I truly believe, that your Company is the culprit to all the data usage as your service is very slow. Takes about 3 minutes to just load a website.

Why is your service so slow? If you would provide descent service and load the pages fast enough, nobody would get your ridicules notices>

Not even your Company officials respond to an e-mail that I have sent them a month ago about another issue. That  shows, that YOUR COMPANY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT IT'S CUSTOMER.
NOT EVEN YOUR PEOPLE IN PUBLIC RELATION WITH THERE FANCY TITLE GIVE A DARN.

Very upset with your service.

Jutta,
I apologize if no one responded to your last email and we do care about our customers. I can look into your data usage and see why your speeds are slowed. Please send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com with your account information. Thanks, ExedeCrystal

everyone has the same problem and I see the same answer over and over again. Exede is apologizing and is looking into it.
I would not want to work for such a company who is trying to rip off people.
Not even the head of the  Company felt the need to respond to my e-mail.
What a shame. Any Public Relation Director would have responded.

yes you have responded to your e-mail.
I looked it up under viasat and sent a copy to the Head of Public relations and another person. I also informed you of it 2 months ago.
Do not have it any longer as I there was no response.

Crystal, I spoke to your technical support as you recommended and they checked everything and told me that I do get great speed, better than others. She said I should check my Internet browser, which I did and I updated it and downloaded another one.
So, it is not my Internet browser  and nothing is wrong with my modem and the slow speed is better than what I suppose to be getting according to you technical support.

Since my current speed is like a dial-up speed with double the price, I will not renew your service when it comes up again.

Thank you for your help!

Jutta - What do you get when you do a speed test? Go to 192.168.100.1 and report the numbers you see. Have you had a technician out to look at your installation? There was a defect in some of the first dishes that went. I have found this where customers had great service for a year or more and suddenly their system went haywire. A good technician can find and fix this in minutes if it is your problem. Good luck.

Also - if you really want some help, the forum at www.wildblueworld.com/forum is much more user friendly than this one and there are more knowledgeable and informed people on there who can be very helpful.

Jim, thank you very much for your help. I am not very technical and I would not know what to do with those numbers, but I will go and see what it says. According to Exede technical Department everything looks fine and they say I get a better speed than what I paid for. So Exede does have the ability to turn up or down the speed button.

Last year, the technician who installed Exede, actually came to my home for another reason and as he looked at the dish he shorted my Internet connection and broke my rain gutters with his ladder. Well he smelled like alcohol as well. I kind of felt sorry for him and didn't want to report him as he was a young man and I didn't want him to loose his job.
He had a Exede dish in his truck and he talked me into it getting it as the cost was only $10.00 more than what I had with a lot more GB's and I went along. Now I am starting to believe maybe he did shortened my Wildblue dish on purpose to sell Exede.

I just don't like remarks from some smart people here who think people are here for fun and have nothing better to do and we are able to fix problems ourselves.

Just because a problem sound simple to fix for some doesn't mean that we all should be knowledgeable to do that. I sure don't!

Thanks again, I will look into it what you suggested as according to the speed test everything looks fine. I updated my Internet browser, but I still get this slow speed.

I have seen Mediacom around here lateley on almost every street in my neighborhood and I am thinking that maybe people do have the same problem and switching over to them.

My gut feeling is, Exede is overloading the receiving poles!
