Data Useage WAS a runaway problem, but Wildblue helped me solve issue. As I am on a very limited budget, I was suddenly faced with extreme data usage a few months ago.  Customer Service worked with me, crediting my account for all the extra money I had to spend that month, and together we discovered that FaceBook had begun running in the background any video posted to all Facebook Websites I visited ...even tho I had not "clicked" on any of the videos to activate them. Facebook did this to increase the possible click rate for these videos. Once it was determined that THIS IS WHAT SHOT MY USAGE TO THE MOON.....I was able to "STOP ENABLING FACEBOOK" this practice.by going to my Facebook Preferences and CLICKING OFF THE ENABLE BOX.   Whew........what a relief as it has been fine ever since.  THANK YOU Wildblue Viastat REPS FOR YOUR CARE AND YOUR REFUNDS along the way.
I AM a happy customer for life.  :)

Thanks for sharing your positive experience, Ardath.

Many of us have been preaching the data usage dangers of Facebook and other sites that engage in this practice... may those who doubt that this actually occurs learn from your first hand experience (albeit a painful one).

On a more generic note, those who use Firefox as their browser may want to install the Flash Control add-in which will enable traditional click to play on other sites since this problem is not limited solely to Facebook (and handles both Flash and HTML5 media).

I yearn for the day when Excede can offer UNLIMITED DATA USAGE....or at least ALLOW ME TO CARRY OVER "UNUSED DATA".....so I can once again follow my natural rhythm of sleeping all night as opposed to having to work online during "free time - midnight to 5: a.m.) !!!!

Ardath, if the Liberty Plan is available in your area, you should switch to that. After the Priority data is used up, you go on the Pass, which is unlimited data at speeds ranging from 1 to 5 Mbps. Unless you are on a very congested beam, which you can tell if your speed drop way down during the evening hours. I have always gotten 5 Mbps while on the Pass, and I love the Liberty plan.
