I am aware of usage limits and understand why they are needed. What I don't understand is, if I am gone for a month and have 0 use age, I get any credit for the next month in my use age. I received a msg this morning that I had reached my limit. I will be restored on the 28th. We leave the 24th, and won't be back till April 1. We pay for March but we don't use the service.

It is just like vacation, use it or lose it. Similar to most cell phone plans. It would be nice if we could roll over unused data, but so far it is not an option.

Except you can take your cell phone with. Kind of hard to take along a satellite dish.

Hi Kenneth,
Exede does offer a $9.99 a month pause charge for vacation time. I think it might only be activated for a 2 to 6 month period though.

You can read the details here :http://help.exede.net/articles/General/How-to-temporarily-suspend-your-Exede-service
And here: http://www.exede.com/internet-packages-pricing/seasonal-suspend

You might also contact one of the Exede girls to see if other arrangements can be made
at:exedelistens@viasat.com

Hope it helps,
Everett

Hello Kenneth, this is very similar to electrical services. When you're away, you still get a bill to keep the services active for when you return.

No it's not. You are billed electricity by how much you use. If I shut the power off I am not billed for electricity I didn't use. I use no internet while I am gone, but I still get billed like I use 10 Gigs. You make quit a profit from me for a month. Your arguments don't hold water and I don't think you can justify it, especially when you reduce rates after 2 months vacation.

A better analogy might be you lease a car with a 24 month contract.  Just because you go on vacation and garage the car for a month, doesn't mean you don't have to send GMAC your four hundred bucks. . .

Hello Kenneth, I was referring to services like television...that was poor wording on my end. Either way, I would be glad to make an adjustment to your account for the time you will be away. Feel free to send me an email to the address provided. Thanks.

If you go away for longer periods of time you might look at our Hibernation Plan.
