Larry,

If you have a Windows based PC, and that is what you primarily use, you can try a program called Glasswire.  Glasswire won't change anything for you, but what it does do is monitor what is using the data on the computer it's installed on, and having this information may help you in being able to combat the excess usage.  It calls itself "firewall software," but don't let that scare you off, as it simply uses the firewall already built into Windows and gives you more options, so you don't have to mess with that if you don't want to.  It doesn't change anything with regard to your firewall.  The free version is all you would need.  You can get it here....

Good luck.

Larry you need to change providers as like you they have told me that i have used all my data (10gs) in just over 24 hours three months in a row yet  I know after using there wildblue service for almost 10 years and never using my 5g's I had then and then three years with Virzion at just 5G's that that is impossible to do. I only use me labtop to check my E-mail and to go on Facebook and once in a while to go on E-bay. Never upload and no downloads. I have my lab set up so that there can be no up-date installed to windows or anything else. I thing they are crooks or there is some equipment that is messed up. Get free of them ASAP. Lots of Luck as you will need it...Brave Eagle

Having the same sort of issue. We used to have the 18gb package, but switched to the 150gb pkg when it was available. We are blowing through that faster then we did the 18gb. Have called Exeter and am not getting any useful help. They are telling me I have a different brand router then what I have and there is an iPhone using some of our data, BUT WE DON'T HAVE ANY IPHONE OR APPLE PRODUCTS. They are telling me it is our Wi-Fi router. I have reset it and changed passwords. Nothing has changed.

Why automatically assume it's Exede and not something having to do with your computer?  Computers do wacky things all the time.  Malware, updates stuck in a loop, background processes, etc. can all start using data whole hog when you least expect them to.  There are all kinds of processes that connect to the net without ever being known, and sometimes those things can get wacky.  If it turns out that it's something on your computer, changing ISPs isn't going to solve the problem.  You should rule out the system before ruling in the ISP.

gabe i guess i would like alittle more effort on exede part. Iv'e done and checked what I can come with they haven't told me the usage in a  time range when it disappeared,so they can tell me whats using it then we can figure it out .,The funny thing is how does the pc know that the bill has been payed ( this happens after payment is complete  if pc has a problem it sure is strange that it happens after bill is payed.Last month when they gave me my data it worked normal after that.I just don't see the pc selecting the only day this happens when exede bill is payed

Well, I'd suggest the Glasswire mentioned above.  It will tell you if, in fact, your PC really is using the data or not.  If it is, you'll be able to tell what is using it, and if it isn't...then they need to fix something.

I'm only going by my own experience and what I've seen from others.  I don't have Exede, but on the boards of the ISP that I do have data usage is a VERY common topic, and there isn't a day that goes by where people don't post about excess data usage.  Of those people, when they get down to it and try to find out where it's going, very often with the help of other customers on the boards, it's inevitably found to be something on their system.  I have yet to see a legitimate instance of data being used by something that wasn't a part of their system.  Again, though, this is with a different ISP, not Exede.

I truly do hope you find a resolution, whether it's discovering that it's your system that is using the data and fixing/adjusting whatever it is that's using it, or being able to show that it's not your system that is using the data.  But again, Glasswire is going to be your best tool for figuring this out.  It monitors every MB that comes into, or goes out of, your Windows based computer, and it tells you what specific programs are using the data.  It doesn't cost a dime, and it's in no way intrusive.  And besides downloading the installation file itself, it uses no data.

Good luck.

Use the eSVT site too to monitor your usage too...  Then you can see the data disappear right in front of your eyes.  That glasswire program is alot like Android in the way it breaks down which programs on your computer are using however much data...

The whole issue here, as it has been explained in other similar threads is that a software update on the Exede end has tried to "fix" an issue with some data not being counted as it should have been, but in doing so has screwed other things up and the issue is being worked on.

https://myesvt.exede.net/eSVT/

The only thing you can do is compare your usage through a program like glasswire and then compare that to what your modem is showing and what the eSVT site is showing and go from there.  A pain in the butt, yes, but at least you can pretty much trust what the glasswire program is counting.  We have really no idea how the data is being counted on the exede end aside from what their eSVT program is telling you.

Absolutely.  Great advice.  Just make sure to only be looking at the "External" data usage, not External AND Local.  I sometimes forget to mention that.

THEY HAVE TAKEN EVERY ONES DATA! SAME THING LIBERTY PASS BS.THEY SHOW I'VE USED ALL OF MINE AT 12 GB. I HAVE A 27 GB PLAN THAT'S NOT EVEN ON THEIR WEBSITE ANY LONGER!
I was out of service for 3 days then off and on for a week due to an outage on their 'beam'. I barely use 17 gb a month. They are really screwed up!!! I do not have a router or any phone connected to my plan.
