Data Usage Problems

Has anyone received any help  that FIXED the problem??  Will you tell us what was done ?

I suspect many have fixed their data usage with the advice given here. But very few of those who were so adamant that none of those could possibly be it and probably got around to actually trying the suggestions come back to admit it probably out of embarrassment more than anything else  - many of the most vocal complainers either go silently into the night or in some extreme cases have been banned from the forum for repeated, often excessive, abusive behavior.

But that's just an empirical observation, not fact...

Those who have legitimate usage errors cause by hardware/software issues seem to get them fixed by ViaSat - but very few come back to explain what was actually done to fix the issue. But those who are more responsible "netizens" do and everybody benefits. Again an empirical observation...

Any advice given by those here not employed by ViaSat or its affiliates is just that a suggestion and we aren't telling anybody what to do. Regardless, there are a few who respond to that advice with something akin to "You're not the boss of me" which is always an effective gambit.

Regardless, it is good to never blindly believe anything you read on the internet and treat it with some skepticism albeit respectfully.

None of this directed at you Willy, in fact I find you to be persistent and personable, otherwise I would simply not respond.   

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a lot of data to consume before it turns into a pumpkin at  midnight when my meter resets...

There was actually one person a good while back on the forums in the adamant category that came back and admitted that a teenager of hers was using the data in the middle of the night.

Yep, and some even come back to say "my bad" and offer assistance to others on occasion.

For the most part the venting and rants don't bother me. It's human nature and everyone deals with stress differently, some prefer humor, other prefers "Reductio ad absurdum", while for others a simple "calm down" has the opposite effect. More so it's the nature of social media, where intent is easy to misinterpret - always contentious but often entertaining.

But that's way too serious for me so Willy, you often confuse me but not Steve and I'm still trying to burn a couple of GB - I'm considering turning the wife's Surface Pro loose to see what it can do - let 'er rip ;)

That's why I asked the question.  I wonder just how many users have had their problem fixed or just gave up? I even think that those who found out the problem was theirs theirs  should tell us.. Maybe we would benefit from their experience.  I do believe that if users don't post any problems here and follow up here the problems might never get fixed.

I am glad that you don't let the venting and rants bother you.  This may help you, I have noticed that if I don't click on them they don't open.

I am very sorry that you find my post so confusing.  Yes I do find some people more helpful than others.  Some people may be more easily confused than others.

I do help that you continue helping me anytime you can understand what i am asking.

This is the second time that you have said you responded to my ticket.  I can not find them.  Would you please send me the case number and the date you responded to t it.  I have asked you about my download speed and what I believe might be an excess cable loss from the dish to the modem.  Last I heard was that you were passing the question to higher techs.

Hi Willy, I responded to you yesterday and 1:33pm to case number 00342103. Sometimes our email responses end up in your junk or spam folder, if you are not seeing it I would check there as well.  I do have one of your cases escalated up higher, I should hear back from them sometime today or tomorrow. As soon as I hear back from them I will respond to case number 00342103 with the resolution. Are you sure it was yesterday //

I checked all of my emails from Exede,.... None in Spam File,  I received three Emails from you yesterday, One At 4:38 PM, one at 5:09PM and one at 12:21PM.  Not one of them referenced  case number 00342103

I really screwed up.  I found the email that you sent.  It was sent when and the time you said.

I apologize for the other emails concerning this matter.   I would have just removed them but I wanted the others users to know hoe i screwed up.

All I can say at this point is I'll try to do better,
